(Another post from the past! In our Jesus Discovery Group, we are currently discussing "Grace and Truth" [John 1:14-18]. "[Jesus] came from the Father, full of grace and truth." The OT equivalent is "Mercy and Truth", so I thought I'd share these blog posts which I posted in August 07.)
Do you have to do that too, so you can remember? I know for me, if I write something down, it is SO much easier to remember.
Well, before I go on to the study of our two words, mercy…

Just ONE question!
What would be the two things you would never leave home without? Wallet, mobile phone, keys, ID, credit card???...
For many, especially the young, one of…

Hard to believe how fast this month has almost come to an end. I know its only Saturday March 14, but wow. I miss my son, Justin and I can't wait to see how big he has got since, the time we saw him last in December. Noah is growing big too and CJ will be 9 months old March 22nd. Russell loves working for the Butler Eagle. I miss my mother--n-law living next door to us. I do miss my good friend on our old street, her name is April and she has 3 girls and happily married to a great, man named…

This heart…she’s crying
Longing to do something that she usually does.
But now, she can’t do it anymore
This makes her feel awful and weep.
She wants to come out of me and just shout
“I am wounded, I am hurt!”
What makes her feel bad is that when she tells it to people around her,
They never realized what she was trying to say.
Nobody around her understands.
She’s grieving.
I can see…

Job 29:1-25 (MSG)
1 Job now resumed his response: 2 "Oh, how I long for the good old days, when God took such very good care of me. 3 He always held a lamp before me and I walked through the dark by its light. 4 Oh, how I miss those golden years when God's friendship graced my home, 5 When the Mighty One was still by my side and my children were all around me, 6 When everything was going my way, and nothing seemed too difficult. 7 "When I walked downtown and sat with my friends in the…

"I Am the Way."
Many say that there is a trend of cooperation on the ministering of
Jesus Christ. Many are holding meetings on co-operation of religions,
praying in each religion and being partaker with them as they pray.
These are unknown gods that many are respecting, and bowing their
heads too. The Bible is against all other religions and God will not
tolerate us sharing our worship with any other false god nor idol.

...WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!!!
Hey, lying in bed last Monday morning, that's what I heard... Louis Armstrong singing "What a Wonderful World".
And then I got thinking about how I was feeling..... SATISFIED!!.... I'd achieved this weekend what I'd set out to achieve. But in a way, I was starting to feel a bit lost, with nothing pressing to do. And then I got thinking again…

From My Perspective - - -
Those who serve their country during wartime and in battle areas know what it is to be subjected to an enemy who is relentless in enfilading. When a command is given: “Ready! Aim! Fire!” the troops respond with an enfilade. It is: “A firing in the direction of the length of a trench, or a line of parapet or troops, etc.; a raking fire; to pierce, scour, or rake with shot in the direction of the length of, as a work, or a line of troops.” Most have heard… Continue

I've been thinking about the word "establish". So I checked out the meaning of the word and I discovered that there were 5 elements in something being established.
1) The Planning
2) The Preparation for the future event
3) The Presentation of the finished product
4) The Pleasure others enjoy
5) The Personal Satisfaction and SUCCESS!
As an…

Posted on the CNN website in response to a story on the dramatic decline of Christian faith in the U.S.:
I don't know of one Christian believer who would deny that everyone has the "right" to believe whatever they want or in nothing at all. That right comes from the exercise of free will--God given power for each individual to make their own choice. Yet, rights always come with responsibilities. When you decide to believe in things that cannot give you eternal life in the presence of…

From My Perspective - - -
Some pithy statements from years ago were: “Look before you leap!”; and, “Think before you speak!” It seems that nowadays we find far too many who keep on speaking until they can think of something to say. The result is a growing confusion and considerable disorder. Perhaps we should conclude: “There’s a whole lot of kerfuffling going on! To kerfuffle is to be part of: “a disorderly outburst or tumult; a commotion.”
An example of this is based… Continue

I posted the following on a newspaper (Denver Post) message board in response to a post deriding "bleeding hearts."
"Oh Lord, please let my heart bleed.
Please let my heart bleed for the cold, the hungry, the fearful.
Please Lord, let my heart bleed every minute of every day for those who are powerless, who are disadvantaged, and who are sick.
Please God, let my heart bleed for those who die by the hundreds, and thousands, and tens of thousands from…

As I've meditated on this prayer for the past day or so, my thoughts go particularly to God's creative people. I'm reminded that when He created the world, He made everything good and beautiful. There was nothing in the world that was not perfect. As Genesis says,
"God saw all He had made and it was very good." (Gen 1:31a,… Continue

"Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands." (Psalm 90:17, NKJ)
This is what I read this morning, and I felt I really needed it to make an impression on me, so I did this. It is also my prayer for you for the coming year. May you, firstly, know what the Lord would have you…

Something the Lord is laying on my heart tonight is to reach out to others who may feel like they are being pushed aside ,maybe somebody in School , work or at home is not treating you the way you should be treated , your afraid and you feel abandon by others , you may be different in some way, you want someone to listen to you ,there feels like there is no where to turn and you want to be excepted by someone and have unconditional Love. Well…
