Being part of a church family!

A year ago after my husband and I separated, I was free to go to a church again, especially a church where the children and I could feel at home. We were church hopping for a few sundays but the Lord took me to a very special congregation. We immediately felt at home and after a few months became part of the church.

The worship is good, the sermons is incredible, and you have the opportunity to grow in your faith and your relationship with God. I made lot of precious friends and I can… Continue

Thy Kingdom Come On Earth As It Is In Heaven

"Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and

hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made

straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the

Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it

together; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it." (Isa.

40: 1; 4 - 5)

Whom would you compare Him to? (Isa. 40: 17 - 18) Those

who don't know Him may worship golden statues. But you, who

know Him want to broadcast to the… Continue

TENSION

From My Perspective - - -

Tension is a current experience in the world and in individual lives. The most recent news about events in Mumbai (Bombay), India is an example. Once it was learned that those responsible for the attacks were being trained and coordinated by leaders in Pakistan – tensions heightened and other nations have attempted to intervene to lessen tensions between two nuclear nations. An article in today’s International Herald Tribune states: “Fresh evidence…

TURBULENCE

From My Perspective - - -

Most of us desire and want Tranquility rather than Turbulence. We trend towards peace and quiet rather than turmoil and noise. All of us have a built-in decibel level beyond which our comfort zones cannot stretch and/or go. Entering into this mix in our generation is Terrorism where Tranquility and Turbulence are not part of either the ambition or a core value of a Terrorist. Terrorism is suggested to have a narrow objective: “Their goal isn't necessarily…

Echoes of Joy

Echoes of Joy

By Darlene Hight

Joyous melody stood, barely able to breathe as the Conductor moved closer.

"Is it my turn?", he asked in a whisper.

"Not yet." the Conductor answered "Your time will come and it will be glorious, well worth the wait."

Tears stung Joyous Melody's eyes as crushing disappointment entered his spirit. I can't bare the wait. What good is a song that can't be expressed? Music shouldn't have to wait. Should it? When?… Continue

a ministry page i have on myspace always posts the most awesome bulleteins...enjoy

The great thing about a menu is that you read through it and pick and choose what you want to order. Just because something is on the menu it doesn’t mean you have to order it; you can pick and choose what you want. A recipe on the other hand, is something that must be read carefully and followed to the letter. If you leave something out of that recipe then what you are making just won’t taste like it was intended too. The finished product wont be exactly what the creator of the dish intended… Continue

SOLSTICE SOLITUDE

From My Perspective - - -

For many of us, Christmas has always meant (1) a time for Santa Claus, decorated trees, gifts, family gatherings, reading of “Twas The Night Before Christmas…”, or (2) A Designated time for the Celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ – Choir Cantatas, Candlelight Services, Pageants, Manger Scenes, Caroling, etc. There has always been much tradition and ritual as December 25th approaches.

The past several years has seen a movement away from the…

UNCONTROLLED?

From My Perspective - - -

For quite some time, a debate has been taking place in terms of a Purposeful Creator versus a Purposeless Evolution. A Poll conducted by World Net Daily regarding – “BY DIVINE APPOINTMENT: Is Barack Obama God's Sovereign Choice For America's Next President?” (267 votes) shows results through November 30th…

No, he was the establishment media's choice - they just think they're God - 34% (90)…

Yes, God is sovereign over everything - all things,…

THANK YOU

Father I thank you.

I thank you for all that you have done in my life.

I thank you for where you have brought me from.

I thank you when I do not understand;

Because I know that you do.

I thank when I feel the pain;

Because I get to experience your comfort.

I thank you when I feel lost;

Because I am found by you.

I thank you for your love and forgiveness,

Because I do not deserve it.

I thank you for the gift of… Continue

THE LAST GOBBLE

From My Perspective - - -

Thanksgiving is a favorite and festive time. Family and Friends gather, as the Pilgrims of old, to celebrate a time of Thanksgiving. There is a large meal – Turkey and Stuffing, Pies – Pumpkin, Apple, Mince Meat, Sweet Potato and Pecan… It is a time to recognize God’s Bountiful provision and care. The 53 Pilgrims who marked that first Harvest/Thanksgiving period consisted of: 4 Married Women; 5 Adolescent Girls; 9 Adolescent Boys; 13 Young Children; and…

vhs videos to be discarded

Our church Library has a number of VHS and cassette tapes that are destined to be discarded. These include things like audio bibles and various biblical stories for children.

We no longer use VHS players and so they are no use to us. However if there is someone that would have use for them, We would gladly donate them to you. We might ask you share in the cost of shipping but that is all. Perhaps we will find some way to pay the shipping. Anyway, if anyone has use for them send me a… Continue

My Testimony

I came to the Lord by way of my own selfishness. I was raised a Catholic, so I always knew about Jesus, but I resisted placing my trust in Him, wanting instead to be "in control" and have a relationship with Him on my own terms.

About a year ago, I was being considered for a job that I wanted very badly. I did a huge amount of research and preparation for an interview, and I prayed long, hard and often.

I visited a church every morning for a couple of weeks and prayed for this job.… Continue

TIME-WARP

From My Perspective - - -

A generation was captivated by the possibilities of space through the fictional TV Series, Star Trek. In more recent times, the Star Wars series has evolved and been viewed as a scenario that could unfold in the worlds of the unknown. Earlier (1954), there was the film produced by Disney entitled, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, where we were introduced to a whole different life and lifestyle. We were so easily caught up in the brilliance of…

A Thanksgiving Prayer by Samuel F. Pugh

Oh, God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry; When I have work, help me to remember the jobless; When I have a warm home, help me to remember the homeless; When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer; And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency and bestir my compassion. Make me concerned enough to help, by word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. "For I was hungry and you gave Me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a… Continue

CIRCUMLOCUTION

From My Perspective - - -

Upon entering College, the class was assigned and challenged to read the dictionary – at least five (new) words a week. Reading a Dictionary can be very boring or very exciting. If one is to expand his/her vocabulary, there is no alternative. For those who study people and their vocabulary usage, the following is the best estimate of a Vocabulary Count in various sectors: “Grade 1 Student =1,000 words; Normal Person (Graduate) = 5,000 to 6,000 words;…

Thanksgiving Day Prayers

Thanksgiving is the time to pray and thank God for his continuous grace. Families offer group prayers both in church as well as homes. Customary Thanksgiving prayer before the Thanksgiving feast is quite popular. Some prayers said during Thanksgiving Day are as follows:

Thanksgiving

For each new morning with its light,

For rest and shelter of the night,

For health and food,

For love and friends,

For everything Thy goodness sends.

Ralph Waldo Emerson… Continue

Thanksgiving Day Thoughts

Thanksgiving is the time to feel gratitude to God for all the good things in life. It is a time to acknowledge the good deeds of fellowmen and be thankful. Thanksgiving thoughts of people give us an insight as to what people feel about it.

* Life can be very trying. When your child is hungry, your body wracked with pain, or you have no idea where you and your family will find a place to sleep, it's hard to find something for which you can be thankful. So, for just a few minutes on… Continue

End or beginning?

As a Christian I am troubled by the condition of the world around me. I am saddened by the heartache and suffering that seems to be prevalent in peoples lives. I am appalled at the audacity of the godless in their thumbing of their noses at God and his ways! These are all signs of the times! God comes for those that love him. He comes soon! I believe very soon. Scripture tells us a little about what this world will be like just before he returns for his people. I find the description of the… Continue

Baptism

I'd like to tell everyone that next Sunday, after living one year in my new life in Him, I will be baptized!
I've heard contradicting statements of whether or not baptism was commanded by Jesus, but I do know that I am making a commitment to follow Christ fully for the rest of my life on this earth, and for eternity, and I believe that is what matters.
