I'm passionate about...: being a listener and being sensitive to the needs of others; sharing God's Word.

My story with God: I was born again while stationed in Heidelberg, Germany with my husband and family in July 1978-in an English speaking Baptist church. Shortly thereafter he came down on orders for Ft Rucker, Alabama-thought he was joking with me!!! I never heard of the place...we really wanted Ft Lewis, WA or somewhere close to Seattle. Our parents were elderly and our children had not had the opportunity to bond with their cousins. The Lord had bigger and better plans...doesn't He always(?) We found a church and the Pastor after attending a few Sunday's mentioned to be in prayer about leadership for the Children's Church. I felt the Lord was impressing on my heart He wanted me to be involved-remember I was a "babe" in Christ myself. I did not know at the time if Sodom and Gomorrah was a place or two people. I went home and prayed and told my husband that I felt the Lord wanted me to do this-what did he think...he told me he would help. We went and spoke with the Pastor and he confirmed the Lords leading. My husband lead Children's Church, I was his assistant, we started a bus ministry, and a door to door evangelistic ministry to bring more children into church. The Lord kept us in Alabama for six and a half years-at the time it was classified as the Bible belt. We both grew in the Lord by being involved in Children's church and being able to fellowship with the elders of the church.

Other stuff about me:: The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband and he gave me four beautiful children that are grown and have families of their own. My husband and I have eleven grandchildren that can keep us on our toes. We lost our youngest son to cancer in Jan 2010, at the age of 37, he left behind 4 children and was just recently remarried less than one and a half years. Praise the Lord, he has a new body, no pain, he loved the Lord. Running the race with my son was the hardest thing I have ever done.....I discovered...I was no Abraham...I confessed to the Lord more than once..that I was not Abraham....I may have placed each of my children on the altar in Alabama and dedicated them to "you" but I am not Abraham....cancer is vicious.....Praise the Lord we serve a mighty God that is full of hope, grace and trust. The eternity we will spend with Him has no comparison to the lifetime we will spend on earth.
