Hello again brothers and sisters here is something that has been on my heart for sometime...you know sunday is the hardest for me during worship services Im distracted by the way some women and girls dress.....I want to bring this up to my pastor but I dont want him to get mad or loose some people because of what Im gonna have to tell him...I may have to find another church and I dont want to leave there..they are dear to me and I have grown since I
became a regular.
I have grown since becomming a member here too......and have met not in person but through technology some of the greatest folks on the planet......I want every one to know that God is good and no matter what Hes always present with me....I dont want any to take this as a weakness letter ......I do resist temptation and the enemies prodding.I think with alot of prayer and study of the old testement especially when Israel came before the Lord to hear His words and to worship Him in Holiness.....for God is Holy.....more than just a buddy or a friend........and we must be able to worship with out uneeded distraction right????? What do you think.

Hi,Chip Fitzpatrick.
Let me first congratulate u,u shame the devil when u confess about how u feel.(plz read 1 cor 10 vs 13 amplified) and u will see how good our father is to us. Then i want u to put (2 cor 10 vs 5-8 every where u go so that u can have it ready when the devil shows up in people, because he relize he cant get u where u use to be,so he comes to the house of God for u,dont run from him never ever,(jamer 4 vs 7 say )So be subject to God, resist the devil, stand firm against him and he'll flee from u)when i first went back to church in(2009) i use to look at how the ladies dress and i use to say i am not going to be a member at this church but the teaching was good so i keep going back then i relize whenever u received the holy spirit no one have to tell u anything.there is a part in the bible that said JESUS is going to ask a lot of church people(DO I KNOW YOU) so dont let the ladies or girls in church get to u look at then as a worker of the devil because children of God dont go out to make their brother's in ChRIST burn.the pastor cant force the member's to dress properly they should know better, here is a confession u can say each day.In the name of JESUS, I declare right now that i am FREE from LUST and ADDICTION to( ),Lord, your word says that whom the son sets FREE is FREE indeed.Iam led by your spirit; therefore,i do not fulfill the evil desires of the flesh.I will never again be entangled in LUSTFUL THOUGHTS or ACTIONS.
Your anointing-your burden-removing, yoke-destroying power-has released me from this sin for good.
I declare that no weapon formed against me will prosper or keep me from fulfilling my divine destiny.
You began o good work in me and are faithful to complete it.
As the redeemed of the LORD and as the righteousness of GOD,whatever i say in faith is so.
LORD,be it unto me according to your word.Amen
To Chip Fitzpatrick)
I hope u will enjoy this confession, the space that in blank put whatever is your problem there and confess it daily. LUV
I grew up (at least to age 13) Catholic, and until my early 20's German when I immigrated to the states so I was raised in a fairly conservative manner, and Germany still is fairly conservative itself. Still, there was always some pressure to dress "girly" or "prettily" for church, especially around 11, 12; even for Mass. When I came to the US in 2002, I was really shocked by the manner of dress for women, since many dress in ways that only the prostitutes did back home. Of course, since I got into the Gothic lifestyle at 17, I can't really point my finger all that much at anyone. Rick pointed out to me a few weeks back, that many of the commericials on tv are blatently sexual, or at least based on sexual innuendos: even a can of pepsi or coke is sold in a sexual manner. We talked one night about European versus American views of sex, also Oriental, Mid-Eastern and sex in history; it seems to me the US is obsessed, but not very knowledgable or good about it. Oh, I got off the track.
I guess what I am getting at is something Rick said about Christianity in the US, that given a choice between being Christian or being American, most choose to be American and live by American standards. And because many churches here are above everything a social institution, instead of a religious one, normal "street" values are used: men and women dress as they are going on a date, instead of going to worship Almighty God. From my 7 years now being an American citizen, I think Rick is right on his observations. He also says most churches here are not really communities, many go to churches and have no other social inteaction with those they call brothers or sisters, if they even bother to know their names. Having gone with Rick to 5 churches now (he's showing me the various denominations and their creeds and varius viewpoints), they seem to be just a collection of strangers that meet a few hours a week, they go back to their own lives. I don't think it should be this way amongst the faithful, I always was way more closer and way more involved with the lives of those in my pagan communities.
From my re-reading of the Bible, people there lived on a much more personal, interactive and supportive basis. Lol, I have friends that are married, or lived together for years, and their relationships seems so shallow, so neutral from what I think it should be.
Of course, over the years I had many the same way; this past month has been so much more, so different, and I can see where it can be even more once I, and Rick get more into being true friends with God.
Just a few thoughts, sorry if I offend anyone.

This is for all my sisters - There is nothing more beautiful to a Godly man than a conservative strong Christian woman. Who's beauty is from within and not dependant on short shorts/skirts or super tight pants.
A woman who is not gifted with physical beauty can truly be the most beautiful (sexier) woman for a man who sees her Godly (inner) beauty, which shines through.
We should not be stumbling stones.
This is for my brothers - Learn to take thoughts captive 2 Cor. 10:4-6 and to appreciate and respect Godly women.
My brother Miles -
>>Are not all girls and women gifted with physical beauty?
This is a matter of opinion, so I respect yours. There are folk’s male/female that are gifted with good looks, handsome and pretty people and there are those who are ok and there are those who physically are not that attractive. Yet the gorgeous people can be the most ugly if they do not have inner beauty and the not so attractive can be the most beautiful when they shine for Jesus.
Is good to know who we are - I aint no gorgeous man physically, I know that, I been told that hahaha hahaha this one girl told me - who you think you are - Denzel? hahaha but I am not frog ugly, so I am all good :) hahaha
We are saying the same thing - my first comment meant to convey the same exact thing you are saying. So is all good again.
My beloved Bev,
Here you are pushing me to go into a deeper subject - and I am really tempted to do it - but.... :)
First I agree with your break down of how beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that does not mean that we ignore that in general the world agrees in what is physically beautiful and what is not. I see no reason to ignore that or play it down. Some people are good looking and some are not, but to many persons the person who is not thought of as beautiful by the masses is the most gorgeous one.
God made us in his spiritual image not the physical one since He is Spirit and we are all beautiful to Him, that is for sure.
>>Looks are not (IMO) a gift as that would mean God gave to one what He did not to another.
I see God doing that in multiple places in the word - giving one what He did not give another. But beauty for many women has been a curse (per se) rather than a blessing because we live in a fallen world, among depraved people. I think (personal opinion in light of truth) we do best knowing who we are and being blessed to be who we are and who God wants to make of us.
Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I've never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful. ~Author Unknown
By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower. ~Rabindrath Tagore
Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart. ~Kahlil Gibran
That which is striking and beautiful is not always good, but that which is good is always beautiful. ~Ninon de L'Enclos
Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts. ~Martin Buxbaum
It is amazing how complete is the delusion that beauty is goodness. ~Leo Tolstoy
David Hume's Essays, Moral and Political, 1742, include: "Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them."
I don't fully agree with his statementfully but ok ... we will roll with it.
Shakespeare expressed a similar sentiment in Love's Labours Lost, 1588:
Good Lord Boyet, my beauty, though but mean,
Needs not the painted flourish of your praise:
Beauty is bought by judgement of the eye,
Not utter'd by base sale of chapmen's tongues
Beloved -
I agree with us being primarily interested in what God has to say about any and all topics, but we should all also check out what our fellow humans have to say, specially the beautiful Christian people God has always used throughout history. We have a great cloud of witnesses.
This is what God has to say about the matter:
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
Family - I firmly believe that every single human being is beautifully made, but there are those extremely wicked individuals who detest love and peace and crave and enjoy depravity to its fullness.
But I was not talking about how beautifully and skillfully we have been made. I was talking about the outer/physical beauty. I would dare say that 90% of the world's population would agree about what is physically attractive and what is not.
1 Peter 3:3-4 (New International Version, ©2011)
3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
