All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I love this story of how God sent Jeremiah to the potter. It leads me to ask of myself, "what type of clay am I" or "am I presenting God with and empty usable vessel". In order for the "potter" to make anything from the clay, it must first be pliable. I've never seen a "potter" take a clay pot or vase and put it on his throw in order to make it into something else. But, with a lump of moist pliable clay the possibilities are almost limitless as to what object can be made. Our problem is, we all want or desire to be a beautifully sculpted vase with vibrant colors to be set on a mantle and adored by all who see it. Yet some of the most beautiful flowers are grown in an ordinary old style clay pot full of dirt sitting out on the back porch. Other clay has been molded into a cup or a bowl to be used to provide nourishment and/or refreshment. The clay does not get to choose its final purpose. The "potter" decides the function and adornment of the object being made. Our Father is the "potter" of your life. He has a plan and a purpose for you. Your only requirement is to be pliable in His hands. No matter how great or small His intent for your life, your pliability can allow you to have an impact on those around you. By the way, "great and small" are human terms and they are truly relative in nature. Remember the widow's mite, it was such a "small" amount by man's account but it was truly "great" in God's eyes. I hope you are blessed by reading this
