Happy NEW Year, everyone! I'm starting the NEW year, by visiting my NEW grandson (not yet 3 months old), taking some NEW medication that I hope will help my depression, starting a NEW Bible study (I Corinthians on DVD by Berachah Church - they send these out free folks), and continuing my NEW expression (novels) of an old love (writing). I have no NEW resolutions, just the same old ones that ignore most of the time. Our NEW semester of homeschooling begins in a couple of weeks and I'm excited about a couple of NEW classes we are going to (a Modesty study for Rachel, and a CSI unit for both of them and my friend's kiddos). I'm so glad I have the NEW group of friends on AAG.net, and hope I'll be able to spend more time on the site soon - you'll see a whole lot of me this summer when school's out. Once upon a time, I asked Christ to live in my heart, to be my Savior and to be my Lord. And He gave me a NEW life, though at eight years old it didn't seem too far from the old one. But my favorite Bible verse reminds me that God doesn't just make me NEW once, He makes me NEW whenever I ask! Psalm 51:10 - "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and reNEW a steadfast spirit within me." (NIV, KJV also uses the word 'renew') So even if my NEW activities become old, and my NEW grandson becomes just another part of the family, if the NEW classes aren't as exciting for the kids as they are to me, and as my NEW Internet friends become more familiar and comfortable, if I become discontent because the next NEW milestone seems to far away, God will reNEW me, make me NEW again each time I ask and receive His grace and mercy. I pray that each of my friends, Internet and close-by, experiencing a reNEWing of their steadfast spirit as this NEW year opens for the glory God. Let us be open and willing to that NEWNESS that total commitment brings, even though it is sometimes frightening. In Jesus' name I pray~
