The tragedy of prosperity preaching is that it attempts to lead people to a wrong version of Christianity. Sure, you can get lots of people to "convert" by promising wealth, health and happiness in this life. Unfortunately many will prove to be false converts, and will backslide and fall away at the first sign of hardship- hardships that we are promised to encounter when we follow Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we lift up all the people of Haiti that are affected by this earthquake. Lord, bind the enemy and prevent him from benefiting from this tragedy. Give countries and people around the world a compassionate and generous heart to help with relief efforts. Gather Your children together in prayer for the comfort, survival, physical and spiritual nourishment of the victims. In the Sacred Name of Jesus. Amen.

This week I celebrate the 2nd year of my rebirth in the Lord!

I came to the Lord by way of my own selfishness. I was raised a Catholic, so I always knew about Jesus, but I resisted placing my trust in Him, wanting instead to be "in control" and have a relationship with Him on my own terms.

About a year ago, I was being considered for a job that I wanted very badly. I did a huge amount of research and preparation for an interview, and I prayed long, hard and often.

I've heard contradicting statements of whether or not baptism was commanded by Jesus, but I do know that I am making a commitment to follow Christ fully for the rest of my life on this earth, and for eternity, and I believe that is what matters.
