Is Life A Box Of Chocolates?

3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

2 Peter 1:3

Me to You.

I love the saying, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never no what your going to get.” This week as I was walking through the internet I saw an advertisement on one of the many banners that is posted every where and it was for a church and they were using this famous title. I have been struggling… Continue

Do You Trust In Me?

12that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.

Romans 1:12

Me to You

Okay I have to admit something to you all. I am a devotion nut! I love them. You really see the people; see how they think and who they are. So today, as I was browsing around the internet looking at different devotions, I found a link at the bottom of one and it said, “A letter from God.” I click on it and I took me this page that had a wonderful letter from God to us,… Continue

Women and Their Roles in Church

I have been stuggling for sometime with the role of women in God's Church. And would appreciate others thoughts on this subject.

I come from a bacground where women were indirectly forbidden from holding leadership roles. Sunday school teaching of 4th grade and below, social women's ministiries, etc. was all. I even found this to be true teaching in a Christian middle and high school. I could teach but that was it. Since my husband and two wonderful daughters were in this same… Continue

Struggling with Thoughts on a Bible Passage - Mark 4:35-41

Mark 4:35-41

“And other little boats were also with Him.”

As I was reading this passage, the pharase “And other little boats were also with Him.” Jumped out at me. As soon as I finished my devotion I had to write these thoughts down. But now I am not as sure that I was coming to the right conclusions. It is the first time I have had this experence so I want to make sure it is God woring and not Satan creeping into my devotion time as he has done in the past.

Is this… Continue

Quebec; a Sixteenth Century Jewel

We stepped into the sixteenth century, my daughter and I. The city of Quebec is celebrating its four hundred’s anniversary and we relished in their celebrations. We delved into historical monuments, ramparts, archeological digs, theatrical depictions of victories and defeats, and the yummy local French cuisine.

After its founder, Samuel de Champlain, set up a fur trading post in 1608, Quebec surrounded itself with ramparts. From its high promontory it had a strategic view over the… Continue

Slip Of The Tongue

From My Perspective - - - -

There are many trite sayings that are occasionally used as a generalization for ones expressions about particular matters. Sometimes it is represented as coming from someone who’s “thinking on his feet”, or a statement can be relegated to “a slip of the tongue.” There is another statement that is also circulated about some people: “he keeps talking until he can think of something to say…” And then, there is the statement of Jesus Christ in Luke 6:44-45:…

THE LORD IS NEAR IN THE VALLEY OF DESCISION

THE LORD IS NEAR IN THE VALLEY OF DESCISION

Robert Bushman 8-8-08

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

Joel 3:14

The Lord is near in the valley of decision.

Whenever the Lord draws near and we find ourselves in a valley of decision.

There is always a call to repentance. And there is always deliverance for God's people.

There are… Continue

THE PATHWAY TO MOKSHA OR SALVATION -- BY PANDIT DHARMA PRAKASH SHARMA

The Pathway to "Moksha" or Salvation

The five Pandava brothers had just finished the Holy Mahabarat war. They had even completed the sacrifice that pertains to victorious kings, symbolizing the glory of the king as that of the rising sun. Now all that was left to be done was to attain the ultimate bliss before completing their earthly pilgrimage, and in pursuance of that goal of attaining true salvation, they arrived at the pilgrim center of… Continue

The Power of the Word.

Psalm 107:17–20

Fools, because of their rebellious way, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all kinds of food; and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

There’s a picture of people in desperate need. They’ve become so sick they’ve lost all appetite. Their physical frame has… Continue

Rust About Trust

From My Perspective - - -

Inasmuch as this nation declares “In God We Trust” and pledges that we are “One Nation, Under God”, one would have the impression that foundational to our heritage would be a strong belief system that embraces a power greater than ourselves Who controls the affairs of mankind in the world. In a Presidential contest, we want to know the “church” a candidate attends and what an individual believes.

It’s no secret that “religion” has been in the…

Not about me

Thats the whole truth. Its not about me. No matter what I go through, no matter how hard. Its not about me. It's about God and giving him the glory for all the good that happens in my life. Its about turning everything around so all that people see is Him. Its all about Him and leading others to salvation so that they can also proclaim his glory. Forgive me for ever thinking that this journey is about me. Many have gone before me and many will come after me. And the only thing that remains the… Continue

More archeological wonders from Israel:

WHAT THE HINDU SCRIPTURES REVEAL ABOUT CHRIST?

Many people in India say that Jesus Christ was a great saint who founded the Christian Religion. The Bible tells us that all mankind have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom.3:23) and that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was sent by God to this world, to become the propitiation for our sins. Who is this Jesus? Apart from the Bible, let us know about Him from the ancient Hindu Scriptures. An Indian saint who had a thorough knowledge of the ancient Hindu Scriptures presented Jesus from… Continue

Surprise, Shock and Awe

From My Perspective - - -

In the 1960s, a popular situation comedy caught the attention of Americans; it was Gomer Pyle, USMC. The description of the program is: “Gomer Pyle was the simple-minded gas station attendant and later auto mechanic in the American TV sitcom The Andy Griffith Show, played by Jim Nabors. He continued the character in Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. from 1964-69. Gomer Pyle was a good-natured, naive country-boy, characterized by his childlike innocence and his…
