Consumed or Conquered ?
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23
Let not your hearts be troubled.
John 14:1
Jeremiah did not write the words above from Lamentations at a time when he was sitting in an ivory castle with servants waiting on him hand and foot. He was going through some very difficult and trying times. He was greatly…

From My Perspective - - -
Our Culture has always demonstrated an ability to have objects of special attention and to be thought of in different ways. When I was a child, part of the great competition vying for a “fan-base” in music was in terms of who the best “crooner” was – Frank Sinatra or Bing Crosby. It was said that young women would “swoon” when they heard Frankie “croon”… It was a form of “Veneration”! According to Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary, Veneration means:… Continue

The Eyes of the Lord
He does not take His eyes off the righteous.
Job 36:7
Last night I had trouble falling asleep. I had a lot on my mind. I had just finished prayer and fellowship time with my online prayer group and there were a lot of concerns and needs expressed during this time. Other personal issues also “cluttered” my mind and made falling asleep difficult. As I laid in bed, I began to thank God for all His blessings in my life. One thought lead to another. I…

Hello Everyone and thank you for the warm welcome to allaboutgod.net website. Thank you Reverend Terry for telling me about this site.
I would like to use my blog to post what I truly love to do...write Christian meditations! I am thankful that the Lord gave me an outlet for sharing my love of Him with others. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them and sharing them.
God bless.

God is really so good to me. We picked our new furniture today. A couch, loveseat, coffee table, two end tables and two lamps. We purchased all of that, plus delivery and a one year warranty for under $1200.00. I am very excited. All except the tables will be here on Thursday. The tables we wanted were out of stock until the beginning of November. We decided to wait, because we like those tables best.
All of our kids have new winter coats, and I saved some money for their boots and…

I must say that I am quite disappointed in myself. If my bestfriend heard me say that she would say "stop being so hard on yourself" but this is the way that I feel. I know God and all that He means to me. I understand His love for me and realize that He is in control of everything. Absolutely NOTHING is impossible with Him in charge. He parted the Red Sea for crying out loud!! He made a donkey talk and raised people from the dead. What can God NOT do? He is my Lord and Savior and I love Him…

This article is from Huntley Brown - he is a fabulous concert pianist, man of God and is a black man. I appreciate so much his reasoning for not voting for Obama. I would like to see this article published or spread out via Email to as many as possible.
Why I Can't Vote For Obama
By Huntley Brown
Dear Friends,
A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just…

A woman has strengths that amaze me...
She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens
She holds happiness, love & opinions
She smiles when she feels like screaming
She sings when she feels like crying
She cries when she's happy, and laughs when she's afraid, and her love is unconditional.
There's only one thing wrong with her, she forgets what she's worth!'
I'm Blessed, And so are You.

The Difference Between Covering and Covering Up
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
If you hang around with church folk very long, you will hear them speak about "covering." I remember when I first heard this phrase, I assumed they were talking about covering…

Who do you listen to?
""Therefore anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven."
Matthew 18:4 NLT
But his officers tried to reason with him and said, "Sir, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, wouldn't you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply to go and wash and be cured!" So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed…

One of the cruelest forms of insult is disparagement. It’s a word that means: “To speak of in a slighting or disrespectful way; belittle. To reduce in esteem or rank….the act of speaking contemptuously of…” There are sundry illustrations of this type of verbalization and/or body language. Most recently, it began occurring when a man named Joe 'the Plumber' Wurzelbacher attended a Senator Obama Rally. He asked a question of The Senator regarding his plan… Continue

Today I placed a smile on the face of my best friend of 17 years. She means alot to me. We had lost touch for a few years, and only recently found one another again. The best part of the whole thing is that while we were apart we both found God and invited Him into our hearts and life. I believe that God placed us back into each others life for a purpose. Her birthday is going to be on the 29th. So, I got her nails done for her, because she has been wanting them done for some…

So often I stumble and tumble with the devil and his deception. I have scriptures that I cling to for these moments. What amazes me most is not just that God shows such mercy, but that His mercy is new EVERY morning. So no matter how much today does not go as planned I have tomorrow to begin again. For scripture says ""The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness O God!" (Lamentations 3:22-23) I am ever…

There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or not at whom made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection.
Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is…

I want to ask you a question or maybe two: Do you believe in prayer? Do you pray? Do you believe your prayers are really making a difference? Think about it: Deep in your heart, do you ever wonder if God is hearing you when you pray? When you finish praying, are you convinced that your prayers have accomplished something? Are you satisfied with your prayer life? Do you really know how to pray? Are you longing for a deeper, richer, more dynamic relationship with God through prayer?
I…

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from…

Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women and the second leading cause of cancer death (exceeded by lung cancer in 1985). Breast cancer is three times more common than all gynecologic malignancies put together. The incidence of breast cancer has been increasing steadily from an incidence of 1:20 in 1960 to 1:7 women today. The American Cancer Society estimates that 211,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed this year and 43,300 patients will die from the disease.…

One day, one friend asked another,
'How is it that you are always so happy?
You have so much energy,
and you never seem to get down.'
....
With her eyes smiling, she said,
'I know the Secret!'
'What secret is that?'
To which she replied,
'I'll tell you all about it,
but you have to promise to
share the Secret with others.'
....
'The Secret is this:
I have learned there is little I can do
in my life that will…

A little boy goes to his dad and asks,
Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way:
I am the head of the family, so call me The President.
Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government.
We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People.
The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class.
And your baby brother, we will call him the…
