- Well, throughout High school I didn't really care much about what God wanted me to do at all. I drank, I smoked, I lusted, I cursed, I hated, I blamed and did a number of evils to others and myself. If a person randomly asked me if I believed in God I would have said "I believe in a higher power but the Bible contradicts itself and is a bunch of bullshit" I said this to one of my teachers and he gave me the best advice I have ever heard. "Try reading it" And he caught me with my pants down, I didn't know a single line of scripture and here I was lieing and saying the scriptures contradicted themselves. I wanted to prove they contradicted themselves so I went to the one book I thought would give me an instant hit. Revelations. Then I read the Letter to the church of smyrna and I saw those children who have died in the most aweful ways from starvation, dehydration and poisoned from water. Made to watch there parents die when they were young children. Then I saw myself complaining about having nothing when I had way way too much and then my money turned to ashes and my stuff was covered in there blood and I felt sick having it. I had fallen FAR from the place he set for me and I have a long road to recovery but wisdom is the sweetest fruit and the shiniest Gold I must say it is amazing. I don't fall victim to that "We all have our own personal God's CRAP because it is from something evil, there is only one Judge and he is the spotless lamb. Seeing Jesus with those children was hard for me. If you wan't to know what is going to be like seeing the face of the Lord try hard to think about a time one of your friends or foes pointed out something wrong you did and then remember that instinct to immediately retaliate by pointing out something wrong they did. It's like a situation like this but Jesus never did anything wrong so you just have to sit there as your face turns scarlet red from embarassment until you almost die from grief. I can't say my experience with Jesus is the same as everyone's but he was not happy with me at first, now we are on a much better basis because I am doing the things I am supposed to be doing. The scriptures say that the Apostles once asked Jesus (Gospel of Thomas) How will we know when we have reached the Kingdom? And Jesus replied, " When you can take off your clothes and trample on them without shame. When you can honestly say that you are not ashamed of the way you have lived in the name of Christ, that is when you are in the kingdom.
