- My story with God
- Patrick Michael was born in Paris Island, SC on October 13, 1987, where his father served in the US Navy. Shortly after his birth his family relocated back to North Carolina where his mother and father were originally from. As a child he almost immediately heard the divine call on his life but he was just unsure as to how he would respond. He began working in ministry at the age of four serving under his pastor, studying and observing. He was a shy child, often scolded by his mother for hiding behind his older siblings during engagements. It was at the age of seven when he shocked the entire congregation by standing during testimony service and singing his first solo. The older saints began to make it an every Sunday thing after that day. It almost seemed like a novelty act because of the authority, conviction and zeal he commanded at such a young age. After much church hurt and many let downs in his personal life he left for college where was discovered by a talent scout during an annual gospel exhibition he was asked to be apart of. He then frequented several venues that catered to older crowds and jazz clubs where he was affectionately referred to as “the church cat”. He became known for his improvisational skills, his fervent growls, and his percussive scatting. After two years and two tours he got news of his mother’s worsened illness. He then was informed of one of his close friend’s untimely demise as his friend was only six-teen years old. Being mindful of where charity should start, he knew he had to take care of home even though the road was beckoning. When some of the locals found that he was to stay for a while they began to offer positions at their respective places of worship. He ended up taking residence at one of the well known churches in his home town as praise and worship leader. At the age of twenty-one he has led praise and worship services all around the United States. He is now a singer/song writer, recording artist and over all minister of music. While tour life was underway he got the chance to sing behind and study several of today’s gospel legends. Out of all his life lessons he counts chief among them the principle of actually BEing the living sacrifice all day, everyday. As a singer songwriter in the industry He’s acquired the ability to arrange and rehearse bands, praise and worship teams, and other vocalists in the most effective manner in order to touch and change lives. This is truly his passion even though he’s been broken and hurt by it , ushering the people of God in the presence of God is what he’s been called to do. Being gifted with a signature ear, youthfulness, energy, exhortation, the spirit of excellence could make a great vocalist for anyone but what really pushes him is the anointing of sincerity that God has placed on his life.
