In Mark 11:13 speaking about the fig tree Jesus was hungry he was also very human at the time .The next verse Since he found only leaves on the tree and no figs he cursed it to its roots.....the Lord could have used a snickers bar right then would you agree He for sure wasnt himself. but as the verse plainly says "they heard him say it" they being the disciples heard it.....Jesus answered and said "No man eat fruit of thee hereaftere for ever..... when they walked by later the tree was withered to the ground and they all amazed..... Id hate to be around on a bad day..... this wasnt typical behavior for a Savior was it?....then while still hungry they went to the temple and thats when he overturned the tables of the money changers and chased them out of the temple accusing them of turning His Fathers house into a den of thieves which was to be a house of prayer........See what low blood sugar can do....plus a good dose of righteous indignation amen?

Chip,
I am not sure I agree with your assessment of the Savior and His actions in this text. Your POV puts way too much emphasis of the humanity of Jesus and ignores, or at least minimizes, His deity. You presume that because He was hungry He was capable of acting differently than normal and thus imply that God is affected by things happening around Him and that He reacts rather than acts.

Hi Chip, God bless you!
v13 talks about the time of figs was not yet.
And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
v14 And Jesus answered and said unto it; No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
Why would Jesus look for figs if it wasn't time for figs. Before the fig tree has fruit, it has these tasty little buds that are sweet. He knew it was not time for figs, but the buds make a nice snack. If the tree does not have these buds, it will not grow figs ever. He knew it would never bear fruit.
If you further along in the chapter, it talks about the next morning they saw the tree had dried up from the roots.
Peter asked Jesus about it. Jesus used the tree as an example of faith in God.
v22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
v23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
v24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Hallelujah!
Love,
Mary
Chip,
First, I battle low sugar and its counterpart diabetes. Thus, I understand the affect as I have been there more than once with a sugar count below 70.
Secondly, to go with your POV it still puts Jesus under the control of His human body. Your position is that the lack of food could cause Him to act out of character ... and, yes, not sin. I just do not see that supported by Scripture. If we follow that trail we could assume that Pilate and the Romans were at great risk of Jesus reacting to His beatings and all the pain that was associated with it because the affects on the body led Him to smite them in self-defense instead of surrendering to the cross.
Let me add another way of putting it. If Jesus would not curse the tree in a normal state of physical and mental health, He would not do so because of some effect to the body led Him to. If He would/could do it without trauma to the body, then trauma to the body need not be the causation of this action, but rather this action served a purpose.
