All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Why do people who live in sin and disregard God seem to have an easy and fun life while those who try to follow God and live a life of morals and values seem to be screwed over and alone?

Kayla,

There are numerous reasons, but below is one part of the picture.

Life on earth is lived out in the middle of a battleground that has 4 key groups. These players are God and the heavenly force, Satan and the demonic force, Children of light (saved men) and children of darkness (lost man). The earth is currently the enemy's turf. The Bible tells us that this is not our home, our citizenship is in another place (heaven). The children of light and the satanic hord have different purposes and strategies. Our goal is to snatch lost people from the fire, to see them saved. This job is difficult because we face a formidible foe in the enemy and his demonic hord. Their desire is to destroy us. Though Satan has constituted authority on the earth and some power, He is limited in both areas and subject to God. The enemy will buffet against us, attemp to scare and discourage us. He will put up as many road blocks as possible to hinder our progress, but in the end he loses. The people of the world (the lost) fall into many categories. Some are unaware and live life day-to-day. They are lost and don't really realize it because their minds have been blinded to the light. Others are lost and know it, but they loved the darkness. One group ignores the church and the other hates it. The lost people often have a relatively easy life on earth because the enemy that would come against them in this life leaves them alone as long as they are already his (in a sense). It is only after one gets saved does the target get put on our backs. God's desire for the lost is that they will come to repentance and be saved. If they do not they will come before Him in the end and face eternal judgment.

Thus, we are on a rescue mission and concerned about collateral damage. The enemy is on a destructive mission and could care less about collateral damage. The Bible is clear that the saved will face trials and tribulation in this life, but the one to come is full of joy and peace.

I must add, that though the lost seem to have a easy and fun life, that is not true of all of them especially after a sinful lifestyle catches up with them physically and mentally.

Lord Bless,

LT

Amen LT.

Kayla, this scripture comes to mind:

Proverbs 23 15-21

    15My son, if your heart is (Q)wise,
         My own heart also will be glad;
    16And my inmost being will rejoice
         When your lips speak (R)what is right.
    17(S)Do not let your heart envy sinners,
         But live in the (T)fear of the LORD always.
    18Surely there is a (U)future,
         And your (V)hope will not be cut off.
    19Listen, my son, and (W)be wise,
         And (X)direct your heart in the way.
    20Do not be with (Y)heavy drinkers of wine,
         Or with (Z)gluttonous eaters of meat;
    21For the (AA)heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty,
         And (AB)drowsiness will clothe one with rags.

Blessings, Carla

I like that. It speaks of exactly what I'm questioning. Stupid question: "or with gluttonous eaters of meat." He just means those who over eat, right? I'm on Atkins so I eat a lot of meat lol.

Hi Kayla,

I think it is in the broad reference to sin indulgences of any kind.

...don't forget your vegetables.... :-)

3 cups a day :)
Very true...
LT, you gave a great explaination!! I like Kayla have asked this same question over and over. We have to keep pressing forward through our trials and remember the overall goal we are seeking which is to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father!!
