So, my pastor asks me today why I haven't been baptized and I told him that I'm still searching God and still navigating my way through Christianity. For those who know me through the few years I have posted on this site, I have a LOT of questions and I'm somewhat skeptical, which I don't find anything wrong with.
I was saved when I was younger, but it didn't mean anything because I was a kid and I didn't know what the heck anything meant. As an adult, I have asked God to save me and I repented. One of the struggles I have is not "feeling" anything. I wanted to feel God so I asked him to save me (just in case it didn't count when I was younger).
So, I told my pastor that I haven't been baptized because I want to feel more certain or it's not going to mean anything. You want to love someone before you stand at the alter and marry them, right? So then, he proceeds to ask me, "how long have you been involved in witchcraft?" Really??? Then he says that most satanists and wiccans will deny it when asked. Um, yeah, because I'm not a wiccan or satanist. What. the. heck?!?
THIS is what turns me away from God. People who turn everything into a religious issue and say insane stuff like that. He wants to talk to me after church on Sunday. I'm dreading this. Why can't I question something? Why am I a satanist because I don't feel God?

Kayla,
Would you consider that your fascination with the paranormal may be the very thing which has opened a door? Would you consider that perhaps this Pastor is discerning something which he is being led to address with you?
In our sinful nature, it is very easy for us to be 'fascinated' with things that do not honor God, and things that will ultimately hurt us.
When we submit to God and ask Him to deliver us He does.... Sometimes it is a process which means it does not happen instantly.
Your very 'fascination' may be just enough to have opened a door even though you may not be actively participating in anything. Additionally, perhaps you have participated in the past?
Our wrestling is not with 'flesh and blood', but rather, it is with the against "the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
(see Ephesians 6:10-18)
Your fascinations are also a choice you are making.
Blessings, Carla
I guess also it's according to how far u take the fascination. It can be very dangerous hun.
Did you tell your pastor this fascination & maybe that's why he came up with his conclusions?
And come to think of it, on your page, you say something about the paranormal. That just came to my remembrance. It could be your pastor is being led spiritually discerning something that you aren't even aware of so maybe I jumped to a conclusion too quickly.
That's just a strange assumption on his part.
Not only a strange assumption, but paste it on Facebook???? Hey everybody, our church has a witch in it.....?????
Yeah, my friend and I laughed at first. Like, really? And if that post wasn't about me, then apparently there's "another" witch lingering around. This is sounding like the movie Hokus Pokus to me. I still feel irritated so I have decided not to go tomorrow. I'm looking around at other churches right now.
Here is a link on our homepage that gives six links to churches you may be interested in checking out to see if there are any in your area.
