Jesus is coming and I know when.

Matthew 25:13

Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.

When I was in High School prophesy books by Hal Lindsey were very popular.  Do you remember The Late Great Planet Earth?  He never did predict when the rapture was to happen.  He did say that he wouldn’t be surprised if Jesus came about the year 1982.

Back in the 1980’s a book, written be Edgar C. Whisenant, was widely circulated.  The book was called 88 Reasons the Rapture Will Be in 1988.  I had a copy.  I don’t know how we got it. My brother-in-law was so upset and worried he gave us another copy.  We had 2 of them.  I kind of wished I held on to one of them.  A sense of panic was in the air as many were expecting the rapture during the Feast of Trumpets 1988.

What was this book so interesting?  Everyone wants to know when Jesus is coming back.  They read this book and got ready.  Many believed Edgar.  He missed it.  I know when Jesus is coming.  I will tell you too.

Harold Camping predicted that Jesus was coming in 2011.  He was so sure that he gave 2 dates.  Harold missed it too.  I know when Jesus is coming.  Keep reading and you will know too.

The one thing these 2 had right is that Jesus is coming very soon.  There will be a day when it will be too late for those who refused to receive Christ.  There will come a day when there will be screams of terror as a great many will be sent to everlasting flame.

In Romans 3:23 we are warned that the wages of sin is death.  This is separation from God in a real place called hell.  That day is coming and there is no way to put it off or stop it.

Thankfully the second part of this verse says that God offers us the gift of eternal life.  How does this work?  If the wages of sin is death how can we get around this?  In Romans 5:8 it says that while we were yet sinners Christ died in our place.  Jesus died to pay for your sin and rose to give you life.

Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and receive Him as Lord and Savior.  Make sure that Heaven is your home.  Don’t put it off.

OK.  You want to know when He will return.  The day He is coming is today.  He cannot come tomorrow.  Tomorrow never comes.  Today is here now no matter when you read this you are reading it today.  Are you ready today to meet the Lord in the sky? 

The exact hour will be called now.  If you are not ready NOW is the best time.

It is silly to put a date on His coming.  It is dangerous to say that it is not today.

What good is it to say anything if someone else has to OK it?

Connections (Spirit, Mind, Body)

Connections

You are a spirit. You have a mind. You live in a body. We are made as a triune person. Homeostasis can be influenced by nonphysical influences. You are a spirit. The spirit is dead or alive. You have a mind. You live in a body.

For definition sake lets go over all three. For the most part we will discus the mind. The reason for this is found in Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” (NIV 84)

You are a spirit. The spirit is dead or alive. So many do not understand that “dead” does not always mean “inactive.” There are two eternal states of the spirit. A dead spirit can be made alive or be born again. The spirit that is alive will never die. (I will deal with this some other time or you can ask me about it if you like to.)

You have a mind. (Sometimes the mind is referred to as the heart or soul.) The mind is where you think and what you use to make decisions. The mind is the seat of the emotions. This is where you choose how you will think. Will you side with your spirit or with the flesh? What you think about will determine your decisions. What you think will also determine how you feel. If you direct your mind to dwell on things that the body likes your mind is siding with death. That is when I am thinking about going to a pizza buffet. All you can eat, dripping with fats and flavor filling on the inside and messy on the outside. Excuse me while I look for a coupon. I have discovered for myself that there is a sort of euphoria that comes on when you eat like that. It is followed by a strong sense of guilt, remorse, and oftentimes self-hatred comes with it too. These negative emotions are open doors to many different diseases. It is healthier to eat all that pizza with its high salt content and fat in excess without regret or guilt than it would be to eat a salad and feel heart broken because you are unhappy about yourself.

Allow me to clarify. I am not promoting poor eating habits. The point I want to make here has to do with the emotions can open the door to illnesses. Here is an example. Your blood has a way to combat invaders that creep into your blood stream. These are T-cells, killer cells, white blood cells... Do you know where these come from? They are from your bone marrow. What happens when the production of these slows down or even stops? The immune system is compromised and your ability to fight off pathogens is in jeopardy. It stands to reason that what ever can cause your T-cell production to dry up is dangerous to your ability to maintain homeostasis.

Look carefully at Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” (KJV)

If you know someone who has an immune disease chances are he has a broken heart. Along with anything you do to help, find a way to address the deeper matters.

Have you ever heard anyone say, “What’s eating you?” Strong negative feelings like hatred, unforgiveness and so many other things gnaw from the inside out. They fester and cause great suffering.

The mind must be renewed. Romans 12: 2 “.. be transformed by the renewing of your mind..” (NIV24)

You live in a body. The body is dead or dying. There is little hope for the body. It wants things it should not have. If it were not so there would never be alcoholics, drug addicts or fat people. The body wants to lie around and do nothing. We all need a new body. The old one is falling apart. Take care of it and it will last longer but it will fight you every step of the way.

It is important to keep up with what you allow into your stomach but it is far more important to keep up with what you allow to live in your heart.

I Didn't Need That....

Overwhelmed by it all I am frazzled.

Nine days and one half of the family is leaving. Ok my son’s family is moving back out. I have mixed emotions there. It is great for them to be on their own again. We have had few conflicts over the year and a half. I’ll sure miss my grandson. To add to this my son is going to basic training for the Army. He is leaving the state. Thinking about what he has ahead and what his sweet wife will have to face without him is too much.

The move is nine days away. Already dreading all the work, worry, mess, and high emotions that come with it. Not only are they going but we will be moving furniture back to where they were before they moved in. (sort of) Can you imagine the cleaning we will be doing?

My morning was hit with the sad news of an aunt passing last night. Doctors were expecting this since yesterday or before. She was a sweet lady. The funeral is tomorrow. I hope my wife drives. I feel shaky.

I made a coffee cake this morning for breakfast. My sweetie was so happy to get it. Just a while ago I got some more and put it into my coffee. Coming through the baby gate to go down the hall to the office the dog came running as a toy was squeaked and tossed my way. DANG! Don’t spill that coffee. The hall bathroom door was opening as though it was by itself. It was dark in there so I reached for the door to close it. My son came through that door. OH! Scared me bad!

I didn’t need that.
