Are there any ex members out there. As I was studying for 17yrs and since leaving it has caused many family problems would be good to talk to people with similar experiences. Your sister in Christ. Sharon

Hi Sharon,

I don't really know much about the JWs but we are glad you are an ex-member and welcome you. Over time there are discussions  about this Cult that I am sure you can answer from your first hand knowledge.

I have read and understand that they have their own bible and I am sure that the differences have impacted you in your decision.

I am wondering what happened to you that you decided to become an ex-member and follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Would you mind posting some of your testimony about it?

BTW, welcome to our family.

Blessings in the Name of Christ Jesus...

My prayers are with you.

Rita

But they seem to be good people and some of the teachings are fair....while some are totally off the wall. But must we condem them? Who are we to say they are whack jobs? The ladies that come to my home and study with me do not seem so bad and believe it or not many of the questions I ask are met with blank stares or with the words WOW I never thought of it that way. I use these meetings for fellowship. I have my own beliefs and ideas and they are not JW's I pray that God will keep me safe and sure on His path. These women have invited me to their Memorial Dinner...I might go just to see. I pray to God he will give me the strength and wisdom to see the truth.

Penny,

The simple answer is that they believe in a different Jesus.

Lord Bless,

LT

True and I don't believe that Jesus was an archangel no matter how powerful. Jesus was the creation of God the Father. Jesus was a perfect man a true Son of God. So perfect we can only dare hope to emmulate him in the smallest way. More importantly is the sacrifice this only begotten son made for us. No worries about me getting sucked into JW. I don't think I will be attending this Memorial thing and yes I will be celebrating Easter(the Ressurection) and I will continue to celebrate Jesus's birthday (christmas).

But thank you for your reply it is so good to have any fellowship with those that believe in the true JC!

Penny,

I would like some clarification, if you don't mind, regarding what you believe based on your statement "Jesus was a perfect man a true Son of God." Do you believe that Jesus while on earth was full God and full man, God incarnate?

Lord Bless,

LT

No Jesus is not God but the son of God Perhaps the spirit of God in a mans form but not God himself....

Penny,

I encourage you to read the info located on the following web page:

Penny we do not condemn people, we condemn false doctrines/teachings that enslave people who want to be free. We are the people of God and we are call to speak the truth and be the light. Jehovah Witnesses’ are very wrong in multiple doctrines, especially the ones that change who God is. They believe Jesus is the arch angel Michael; hence the deity/trinity to them is a manmade doctrine.

I studied with them for 3 years before being born again and attended their kingdom hall and their annual events. I have no problem telling you to do as God guides you and also to caution you that their doctrines are very wrong.

Lord bless you

'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Ok this is from Paul right? The SON of the living God. Please understand that I believe in the trinity. God the Almighty creator of all the universe, His Son that He created our Saviour our King, and the Holy Spirit the very essence of God. I also believe that once we have accepted the SON of God as our saviour and hold Him in our hearts and minds that we also have a piece of God in us we essentially become children of God not like the SON of God tho'....am I making any sense here? I do not believe in any of their doctrines just as I do not hold any catholic doctrines. I find them interesting....I ask questions that they have conoluted answers for...

Dear Penny,

The deity/trinity is not the easiest doctrine to grasp, is one of those doctrines  that our human logic has a hard time with. We understand that and love to edify the body of Christ by showing with the word what God declares of himself.

God the Father is One.

God the Son is One.

God the Holy Spirit is One.

So what we have is 3 persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit who make up One God in three persons.

Chapter II

Of God, and of the Holy Trinity

I. There is but one only,[1] living, and true God,[2] who is infinite in being and perfection,[3] a most pure spirit,[4] invisible,[5] without body, parts,[6] or passions;[7] immutable,[8] immense,[9] eternal,[10] incomprehensible,[11] almighty,[12] most wise,[13] most holy,[14] most free,[15] most absolute;[16] working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and most righteous will,[17] for His own glory;[18] most loving,[19] gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin;[20] the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him;[21] and withal, most just, and terrible in His judgments,[22] hating all sin,[23] and who will by no means clear the guilty.[24]

II. God has all life,[25] glory,[26] goodness,[27] blessedness,[28] in and of Himself; and is alone in and unto Himself all-sufficient, not standing in need of any creatures which He has made,[29] nor deriving any glory from them,[30] but only manifesting His own glory in, by, unto, and upon them. He is the alone fountain of all being, of whom, through whom, and to whom are all things;[31] and has most sovereign dominion over them, to do by them, for them, or upon them whatsoever Himself pleases.[32] In His sight all things are open and manifest,[33] His knowledge is infinite, infallible, and independent upon the creature,[34] so as nothing is to Him contingent, or uncertain.[35] He is most holy in all His counsels, in all His works, and in all His commands.[36] To Him is due from angels and men, and every other creature, whatsoever worship, service, or obedience He is pleased to require of them.[37]

III. In the unity of the Godhead there be three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.[38] The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; [39] the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son. [40]

[38] (Traditionally, I John 5:7 is placed here, but we have, for obvious reasons, omitted it in our online edition) MATT 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. MATT 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. II COR 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

[39] JOHN 1:14,18 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

[40] JOHN 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me. GAL 4:6 And Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

You said: >>God the Almighty creator of all the universe, His Son that He created our Saviour our King, and the Holy Spirit the very essence of God.

Jesus is not a created being. Jesus does have a begining in the flesh, when He incarnated (John 1:14), but Jesus is God and has been from eternity past John 1:1-5; Hebrews 1:1- 8.
