"The resurrection of Jesus? Ha! That's just a fairy-tail. What makes you think it really happened?"

First, I would say to someone who challenged me by saying that the resurrection of Jesus is just a fairy-tail and then asked me, “What makes you really think it happened?” There is insurmountable evidence that proves that Jesus really did rise from the dead; beginning with the fact that the New Testament is known and accepted as a historical document. Additionally, all of the Gospels were written in the 1^st century, and were written by either, direct or indirect eyewitnesses. Moreover, with regards to the Old Testament, there were 48 specific prophecies fulfilled by Jesus. The odds of this happening are; 1 chance in 13 trillion of One Man fulfilling these prophecies.

If the disciples had “stolen” Jesus’ body they would not have stated that women discovered the empty tomb. During this time period women were considered second class citizens and, for the disciples to continuously stick to their story by saying that the women had found the empty tomb, is very significant; noting especially, that one of the women was Mary Magdalene, a woman who was known for her sins.

If the body was still in the tomb, why did the Pharisees say that the disciples had stolen it? If they claimed the body was stolen, Jesus’ enemies acknowledged that the tomb was empty, and if the disciples had stolen the body then there is an empty tomb. If the tomb was not empty, Jesus’ opponents would have gone and got the body and shown it as soon as the disciples began proclaiming the resurrection, in order to prove that the disciples were lying about the resurrection of Jesus. Furthermore, there were Roman guards placed at the tomb of Jesus; if someone had stolen His body, each and every single guard would have been killed, as was the custom of the Roman Empire.

After the resurrection, Jesus was seen for a period of forty days; first by the women, then by his disciples, by over 500 before His ascension, and finally, by His half-brother James who did not believe Jesus was Who He said He was. (1 Corinthians 15:3-7) Additionally, He appeared to Saul on the Damascus road while he was on his way to persecute more Christians. Each of these people would die for their belief in Jesus.

Can you really die for Christ? How can you die when the life He has given us is eternal. Yes, this old body will pass from this world at some point. These did not die. They live because He lives. My death has already taken place. I died when He gave me a new life. The old man is absolutely totally gone never to come back again. Now, I just carry around this old body of flesh. It's no longer pretty (actually, never was) no longer limber, no longer energetic, and most of its usefulness is mostly gone. I cannot get a new one until this one is taken away. So, when someone takes away this old body, have they hurt me?

Paul struggled between staying here in his old body and being with Christ. I think that finally Jesus said, "Ok, Paul, just come on home." Did they kill Paul? Ha, what a joke. They were just doing the bidding of His Savior. Some day He will do that for all of us. That will be the most blessed day. We are told to not fear those that have power over this body. We need to put our faith and trust in the One Who has power over our souls. Blessed be our Lord.

Ok so what I meant was if by some chance you were asked to deny your faith/belief in Jesus or die would you give up your life? Would you give up your life in the here and now for your savior? Because the way the world is turning it may come to that....

I think it would be very difficult for someone to answer that question. I just cannot imagine ever denying Him. I would say that, "yes, I would give up this life for that life." I do not want to be presumptuous but He is everything to me. I do agree that things might get to that place pretty soon.

For me physically dying for Jesus is no big deal. I mean I have jump in front of a moving truck to save a kid (no I am not showing off or seeking praise) just saying that any man would die for his kid, wife or Lord if he is truly born again. What always comes to my mind is: Am I willing to die for my Lord to this life and my flesh?
