All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

If your salvation can be lost, your adoption into the family of God is not permanent.
Never once are believers threatened with losing membership in the family of God.
Jesus thought the opposite. As far as He is concerned, adoption is forever!
If you placed your trust in Christ's death on the cross as the payment for your sin, you are an eternal member of the family of God. Acting like God's child didn't get you in. Not acting like one won't get you tossed out. God's unconditional love is eternal. Salvation is forever!

Think About It

Does it make any sense to say that salvation is offered as a solution for our sin and then to turn around and teach that salvation can be taken away because of our sin as well?

The good news is that God's pencil has no eraser. Before you breathed your first word, God knew how you would respond to His offer of grace. According to His foreknowledge. He wrote your name in the book of life. And there it shall remain forever. Jesus said it this way:

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. -- John 10: 27-28

And as if that were not clear enough:

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. --- John 10:29

meditate on this

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2: 8-9

excellent brother. like God could give such a wonderful gift and then take it away for our performance. He knew better.

Since you have nothing new to add I guess that I will take on your verses one at a time. Numbers 14 (if you read on)

13 And Moses said to the LORD: “Then the Egyptians will hear it, for by Your might You brought these people up from among them, 14 and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, LORD, are among these people; that You, LORD, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night. 15 Now if You kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your fame will speak, saying, 16 ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.

God said what He said so that Moses could intercede for them. And of course God proved that He was able to deliver Isreal even though they did not deserve it! Even as salvation can't be earned so God won't destroy or turn away from His chosen people because of their sin. Once they are His they are always His chosen people just like once we are saved we are always saved since we were also chosen.

Isreal, the Jews, were God's chosen people, are God's chosen people, and always will be Gods chosen people. God always keeps His promise, and He has promised to save His children, no matter what, to the end. He is able to do what He says He will do. He who began a good work in you is faithful and able to complete that good work. You are blessed if you realize that your salvation is not up to you, but it's up to the One who is able to complete it. Don't trust in yourself to keep your standing with God right. Trust in allmighty God through Jesus Christ the LORD. Once you are saved by grace through faith apart from works in the Jesus Christ of the bible you are then indwelt by the Holy Spirit, another promise given to you that won't be taken back.

INDWELT 1. To be permanently present in (someone's soul or mind); possess spiritually

If you are saved it is only because of what God has done for you. If you trust in God and His word then you can know for sure that you have eternal life.

If your salvation has anything to do with you then you don't have it at all and never did. On the cross Jesus said "it is finished" then He went into heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father because the work of our salvation had been accomplished.

Now what do you think you can add to that? Just believe it or don't.

Jesus said that "My sheep here my voice and follow me"

Don't let unbelievers torment you with the idea that you can lose your salvation. Fear equals torment. Perfect love casts out all fear.

adding work to your salvation in not a secondary issue

If our salvation hinges on anything but the finished work of Christ on the cross, we are in trouble.

--1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.

Where there is no assurance of God's acceptance, there is no peace. Where there in no peace, there is no joy. Where ther is no joy, there is a limitation on one's ability to love unconditionally. Why? Because a person with no assurance is by definition partially motivated by fear.

Fear and love do not mingle well. One will always dilute the other.

I have not mastered love, however my God has. He lives in me and has promised that He will never leave me.  When I allow Him to He can love others with His love through me, perfectly. The Holy Spirit which has taken up residence in me will never allow me to get so hard towards God that I deny Him, even if I wanted to. I am His and He is mine... forever! No eternally!!! I am sealed by the Holy Spirit permenately and God can never deny Himself. Perfect love casts out all fear! Praise be to God! All of it!!

What you said is absolutely beautiful Craig..  and true.. :-)

Blessings, Carla

Very true! Jesus made that clear to the rich man.

Like I have said to other people who believe in ether Theology (not doctrine).  It doesn't matter what you may believe as long as you live your life as the best born again Christian you know how to be, you will make it to Heaven.

God Bless, and some day we meet each other in Heaven.

DOCTRINE
Love you in Christ, a lot. :)

2 Timothy 2:15 (New International Version)
5 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

1 Peter 3:15 (New International Version)
15 ... Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Matthew 16:12 (New King James Version)
12 Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees

Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

1Ti 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

1Ti 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

1Ti 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Titus 1:9 (New King James Version)
9 holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam,
Rev 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

2 Timothy 2
14 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his,"[a] and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
How great it is to have a place to discuss these issues. Obviously we have proven why we have so many denominations. We all have opinions. But as rought and as unchristian like it may sound to say what I am about to say, I will say it anyways, since I am not in a popularity contest and don't mind doing the work I have been called to do, All Glory and praise to God.

Wow THE WORD IS ASKING US TO SEEK TO HAVE SOUND DOCTRINE (theology), TO REBUKE AND EXORT. TO NOT BE TROUBLE MAKERS. TO NOT ARGUE SENLESSLY, BUT TO GIVE AND ANSWER TO ALL THAT ASK, WHILE REMAINING PLEASENT AND ALSO TO SEPERATE FROM ALL THOSE WHO GO AGAINTS SOUND DOCTRINE.

MAN THAT IS ALOT TO LEARN TO BALANCE AND DO CORRECTLY. I KNOW I FAIL AT DOING IT RIGHT AT TIMES, BUT DO I GIVE UP, NOPE, HERE I AM TRYING IT AGAIN AND USING CAPS WHICH MEANS I AM YELLING HAHAHAHAHA, NO, I AM NOT YELLING, JUST EMPHASYSING.

We will never have perfect unity in the body of Christ until the Lord sets the fullness of His kingdom, that of course does not mean we don't strive for it. The world is the world. They are looking for any excuse not to worship God. Again that does not mean we help them have excuses for not wanting the church, but the truth is that the lost and blind do not want God any ways.

These Forums are for Christians to discuss Christian issues. NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTAND THAN DOCTRINE, APART FROM BEING BORN AGAIN AND LOVE, WE CANNOT LOVE GOD, PRAISE HIM, BRING HIM PRAISE, WORSHIP HIM, PRAY TO HIM, TEACH HIS WORD OR HAVE A COMPASSION FOR THE LOST UNLESS WE HAVE SOUND DOCTRINE., THE TRUTH.

So that is why we dive in here, into these discussions, to sharpen each other. Should we talk about the weather and the latest movies instead, come on family, we cannot afford to forget about sound doctrine and endeavor in maturing through these great discussions. I am maturing through them and becoming better at communicating my thoughts, I think. It takes the Spirit's leading, skill and maturity in Christ to participate in these discussions in wisdom, prudence, Love and Long suffering with one another to do this in a way pleasing to the Lord.

Let us continue to strive to that perfect man in Christ.
