preparations for an eventual economic collapse

i encourage all to start a food and water supply besides their normal food shopping. food shortages may be ahead, but i think that it will become so high in price, even a loaf of bread. also, stock up on some other items like medical kits, emergency candles, etc. so when the dollar collapses totally, what are we going to buy food with? its good to have xtra. God wants His people prepared and ready for the trying times ahead. you dont want to be one of those out in the store fighting off other people for water and food supplies at the last minute. also, you may want to get even xtra for family and friends that wont prepare for themselves. dollar stores have some good bargains. what do you think about this?

not saying im fearing, but preparing for any situation. why do you think it is a fear? joseph prepared egpyt for 7 yrs. Gods people shouldnt be ignorant either. if you havent experienced it yet cause, when it comes upon you you wont have time to react. it will be late. watch....... look.... listen....

If collaps happens - Simply move to the country or the woods and grow your own garden and hunt and fish and forget your phone hahaha...

I agree 100%.  The world is getting very different.  There will be a transfer of money and power, but first the Christians will have a great blessing if they will capitalize on it.  Canned goods and dried food ( beans, flour, sugar, etc.) are good items to stock up on.

some may say that if you do store up on goods than you are not trusting God as provider.......  but there is another perspective.

 

If you don't store up on goods, then God can't use you to bless others in that way.  You may be prompted to store up on goods so that you are able to help others if it comes to that.  Our motivation need not be out of fear, but rather out of planning ahead.  Keep in mind that canned goods do have an expiration date.  I think they are good for 2 years or so...

 

A good way to plan it may be to work with your fellowship group each providing one thing and then coming together as a community to share what each one has.

 

Check your expirations regularly.  If something is about to expire then donate it to a food bank where they can use it up quickly, then freshen up your personal supply.  Be careful to not store dried goods in a damp place where mold can grow.

 

God will provide all our needs, and He may just use your hands to do it.

amen carla. what else really gets me is the government is trying to pass some strange new law where you cannot grow your own garden or share it with others. check it out.  its like they are trying to control  the food supply now too.  shalom

I haven't heard of that Margaret..  that's very strange.  I wonder if people will be able to have rooftop gardens?

I live in Canada..  I started a garden a couple years ago.  It's not very big, but it's something.  I also told my husband that I wanted to get chickens..  but there is a city by-law against that.  People can grow certain things indoors if it came to that.  I have grown tomatoes in pots.. as long as they get enough water and sun they will grow.  Lettuce is also very easy to grow.  It wouldn't hurt to do the research now... i am an avid gardener, and enjoy container gardrning as well. i guess i just want people to be prepared, not out of fear, for i trust in my Lord, and im not sure how many here are following the news out there, and not necessarily on t. v. only but getting on the internet and finding things out that cnn or those type of channels wont cover. how do you think the new world order will come about? a very very rich group of luciferians that really rule this world, need to make many changes worldwide. it fits in prophecy, for somehow the world must become a one world government, hence, the complete financial collapse of america and chaos in other countries. have you ever wondered why is it of all the nations of the world why wont anyone step in and helping very starving countries like somalia? seems almost unreal that no one can help, right? because thats the way governments are run, for their own get rich off others sufferings, with no regrets. so it is the opposite of our God, for He is not a God of chaos but order.   shalom

Margaret,

I think it would be very wise to be prepared.  Just be careful of the tabloid prophecy which seems to be everywhere.   Truly I recommend if you can find a trustworthy group to study the book of Revelation with, it won't be disappointing. 

 

We have to be careful with prophecy...It has to fit what the bible says 100% or it is not prophecy.

If we look at the way the world is and try to squeeze bible prophecy into it to fit, we will be mistaking.  We can't make it fit.

 

I suggest doing a study of the book of Revelation.  I have just started it..  it is intense.  We are studying the OT prophecies as they were revealed and expanded on in the book of Revelation.  It's fascinating, and not troublesome.  I don't know enough about it to comment more on it for now.  However, it is fascinating how the prophecies were mentioned by the beloved prophets of God thousands of years ago...and in the book of Revelation they are expanded on in further detail....explained.

I think you will find as you read and study the book of Revelation it will drive you further into the OT.

Thanks for the reminder about David; I was actually thinking about Joseph and the famine that he prepared for.  Also Revelations is a great study, but let us all remember that God did not give us a spirit of fear but one of power.  If we do store up goods for an economical collapse then our power can be used to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We could do this study.  I think it's important that each person has their own study book though..  I don't know if this would be the best one for an online study.

It is the study of eschatology from a Messianic Jewish perspective.  I highly recommend it.  There is also a study guide that goes along with it, but it must be purchased separately.
