The Psalms!

Because it has something for all feelings. David just let his heart flow towards God and His feelings are often mine. That is why my fav band is Sons of Korah:

The Lord Bless you and Keep You!
God uses two books to pick me up anytime I am down. They are Colossians and 1 John. The supremacy and love of God.

Hi Everyone,

The book of Isaiah. Why? It's beautiful.

Philippians--Why? This teaches me to be Joyful in the Lord in the face of trials and tribulations.

Colossians--Why? Because it tells me who I am in Christ. Here I learn who Jesus is compared to who i am.

John--Why? This book tells me about God's Love, and reassures me that I will be with Jesus forever when i die. Jesus is Eternal and He has always existed.

James--Why? Here i learn the importance of controlling my tongue, the importance of living out my faith, and the growth that occurs when a believer goes through trials.

Proverbs--Why? Here I learn about wisdom.

Psalms--Why? to Worship my Lord. I am also always encouraged to hear that i am not the only one to ever go through difficult times. This difficulties are common through out humanity. God helped them, He will help us.

Blessings, Carla
Romans

John showed me what a beautiful and powerful Lord I serve. Acts made me cried and laugh.

Romans broke it down, what happened to me, how it happened and when it happened.

It left me without a doubt of God's justice, our total depravity and God's grace drenched with faithfulness. Our righteousness through faith apart from the Law was explained along the perfection and applicability of the law for all of human history. Our new position in Christ vs. Adam was made clear, in other words we are dead to Sin and Alive in Christ. The struggle of flesh vs. Spirit was explained and then I was transition to the beautiful life of walking in the Spirit. In a way only God can do, Paul through the the perfectly inspired word of God immediately informed me that our present sufferings don't compare to our present joy and Future Glory, for we are more than conquerors through Christ. God's faithfulness was brought to my remembrance again when Paul speaks of God's chosen people. Then he tells me: How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Wow, Wow, Wow!!! It goes on to tell me my mind must be renewed by the washing of the word, so I can offer humble Service in the body of Christ and bring Glory to the one that has saved me from myself by walking in love as I submit to governing authorities and act Christ like with my Family as I practice sacrificial love.

Again Wow! What a master piece of the one True Living God. I have read Romans more than any other book. Highlighted and wrote notes about every single verse almost ha-ha. It still captivates me after 16 years of reading it.

The rest of the bible is my favorite too hehe :) Silly wabit.

Blessings family

John.
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God.

He was the beginning and He is the end.

The gospel of John. I spend a lot of time studying in this gospel because John has a wonderful way of making Jesus out to be a person who can be easily approached. By that I mean that John gives many accounts of Jesus speaking to people. He seems to really bring out the humanity of Christ. He also seems to reveal more of the human emotions that Jesus experienced while in His earthly body. It makes it a lot easier for me to believe what the writer of Hebrews says in Heb. 4: 15 - 16

" For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are , yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

John's gospel seems to just give me a better understand of how truly approachable Jesus is.

Also I like many of the Psalms, especially the ones attributed to David. I can really relate to someone who has to spend a lot of time going before Gpd to get themselves straightened out. Psalm 51 seems to be the story of my walk with God.

God bless.
Amanda,

Have you seen the movie that was made recently about the account of Esther? It was pretty good.
