All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Jesus often spoke in parables. What is your favorite?  Why?  What does that parable mean or say to you?

God is not the author of confusion and this would be very confusing to me to think that God needs the devils tools to teach you or to strengthen us.
God might use the hardship that the devil brings on you, but He doesn’t need the devils tools to teach you anything, He has His own plans and well able to implement them!
So what do we do with 2Cor.3?? Especially the 17th and 18th Ver.

So this is how I thought we were changed!

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Not by the works of the devil. “emphasis mine”
this is my fave as well coolio sis :)
Veronika ! Blessings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Maybe we see things a little differently, we read in the Word in Luke 6:38-39 Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. Giving is sowing a seed ($$$$) receiving the same in return.
Sowing the Word even if it is giving the scripture quoted above to someone that has never heard about the law of sowing and reaping. Called enlightenment.
You can sow the Word that says By His Stripes ye were healed, and I guarantee you some of those seeds “Words” will fall on deaf ears. Hardness of heart. A mind that is blinded to the truth by tradition. Or a religious or a sense knowledge mindset. And others (seeds) will fall on a sensitive heart toward the Spirit of God and believe it and get healed. Some immediately, it will take others a little longer for the seed to grow. Thorns and thistles springing up and choking out the Word that was sown. Meaning that some one just trying to help the other by saying, “ well you know if it is God’s will for you to be healed; you will be healed“.
Sounds like the same thorn Paul had in his flesh, that was buffeting him. A messenger from Satan!
I’m not shouting either just informing others of the truth.
Not conjecture.
Blessings to all,
Joe
Hi Michelle,
Definitely this one for me:

The Parable of the Lost Son

11 Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring[b] out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

Praise the Lord.
He is a forgiving God

Rod,

I second that. It is my favorite and applies to my life in many ways.
Lord Bless,

I love the parables. I see in the parables evidence that Jesus was truely more than a man. (not that I need it proven) Jesus knew that we would have all these different translations and theologies over so man years. But since 'He' is the beginning and the end, He was able to anticipate our errors in understanding. The parables are little 'pictures' that we are able to understand even if some of the 'words' are not translated correctly, a complete thought. I also have found it very amazing that in many of the parables, He is repeating a previous 'thought' but giving a new example of it to help people to 'get it'. And many of them are actually from the old testament.
