Hi frnds help me out in knowing, How God values our heart desires? Is telling our desires to God is wrong?Whatever is happening in our life is preplanned by God?
Here are some Bible passages I particularly like on the subject:
Psalm 37:4-6
4 Delight yourself in the Lord
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed — not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence — continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
These passages seem to indicate that as long as we have prayed and committed our way to Christ, and our ultimate delight is in God, he will give us the desires of our heart. We need not be excessively worried about "missing God's perfect will for our lives" as some believe. We can trust that God, through his indwelling Holy Spirit, is causing us to will and act according to His purposes. The Bible teaches that God does know the number of our days and that he has a plan for us. And yet, we have a free will and we, being limited, will never see the unfolding of His plan for our lives looking forward... only as we look backward.
thank u uncle.. these days me and my frnds having discussion about this topic... one of my friend said we should pray like Jesus"thy will should be done in my life" not telling our desires to God,want to know more about this thank u for your reply...
Great question. Our responsibility is to be in tune with God's will for our lives. His will is in His word, so when you know His word, your mind is renewed. When your mind is renewed then you think as God wants you to think and you view life with Spiritual eyes. Your desires then become the desires of God as you seek His Glory primarily.
When that is the case He gives you your heart's desires for they align to His will and word. Nothing wrong with having Godly desires. God values them and answers them as we continue to trust and believe in Him. It is impossible to please God without faith and faith comes by hearing His word.
So beloved abide in his word, delight in it and He will give you the desires of your heart. :)
thank u bro... these days me and my frnds having discussion about this topic... one of my friend said we should pray like Jesus"thy will should be done in my life" not telling our desires to God,want to know more about this thank u for your reply... :)
The verses I quoted below and so many others encourage us to ask. "7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."
You can asked and then finish your prayer by telling Jesus that He knows what is best for you, you want His will to be done in your life more than your own will.
To some this seems contradicting and is being a double minded man which James tells us not to be:
" 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
To asked for your heart's desires that align to God's Holy will and then to say, but Lord if you see something better, different or more appropriate for me for your Glory, then your will be done Daddy. I believe that is a good prayer.
ok understood...bt my another doubt is,God's will is based on His words ryt. For eg:If i have a desire for a particular thing like for my marriage or for my job..and am praying for my desire to my Father and i got His word that it will be done..ok. How my prayer should be after knowing His will, the same like Lord do Your will or holding His promises and pray.Bcos word of God clearly says in (1 john 5 : 14,15)
14: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him
So if our desire is based on God's will , surely it will be the best ryt. After knowing His will through His words , why we still need to pray like,Lord do your will... Instead we can boldly like David in 2 Samuel 7:27
27: For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
You actually placed a huge smile on me because you have grasp the fact that we can boldly come to the throne of Grace when we are assure that our hearts desires are in line with God's will for our lives. :)
But at times we will not be certain and it is wise at those times to do as Jesus did. Lord, your will be done.
John 15
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples
