John 1:1-2
The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.

God is eternal. Christ Jesus is eternal. Both Father and Son have always been and will always be.

-----------------

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the son of God and Jesus is God. The mystery that was hidden from man from the beginning of time was revealed in the work of Christ Jesus.

Mark 15:33-34
The Death of Jesus

At the sixth hour darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

An important question to make you think during this holy week: Did Jesus deserve to die?

The answer is yes. At the moment when he cried out to his Father in Heaven, all the sins of the world were placed on our Lord and Savior. God turned His face away from His Son and in that moment, Jesus was alone and separated from God. At that moment, Jesus was sin. And unlike the prior sin sacrifice by the people of Israel, these animal sacrifices only hid the sin from our Father in Heaven, the sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ TOOK AWAY the sin for all that believe in him. Jesus Christ made it possible for each of us to be justified before our Heavenly Father. Our sins are forgiven because Jesus took them upon Himself and died for each of us.

We have much to be thankful for this week. Blessings to all in the name of Jesus Christ.
Mat 27:36 "and they sat and watched him there."

These were the four soldiers who had crucified him. They watched him in case His friends should come and release him.
What chance was there of that......? We read Only of John and Mary - the mother of Jesus - at the Cross. The disciples had run away and even Peter had denied Jesus.
Is it not strange that the citizens of Jerusalem had turned out to welcome Him into Jerusalem. Yet when Jesus was placed on trial we do not read of one objection to the Crucifixion apart from the one who then grudgingly sentenced Him, namely Pilate.
May I ask all who read this "What think ye of Christ? Mat 22:42 When Jesus asked Peter "Who do men say I am?" Peter replied: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." Mat 16:16. Yet when challenged by a young girl, Peter denied that he was Christ's disciple.
Our own denial as disciples of Christ is done in silence, when we say nothing as we listen to friends and others blaspheme the name of Christ. We become as guilty as Peter. Peter wept bitterly.
What do you do?
Your Brother and Friend in Christ - Ron
Today as we consider the last week, we see two key events recorded in scripture:
Monday in Jerusalem Jesus curses the fig tree (Mt 21:18-19 Mk 11:12-14) and that same day Jesus cleanses the temple (Mt 21:12-13 Mk 11:15-18).

Thank you Father for the eternal sacrificial love You have for us through Your son Christ Jesus.
