CAN ANYONE OPINE PLZ
I gave my life to Jesus a couple of months ago, then I started to read d Bible and realised that I had to find the church that followed all the Commandments. I am still on d search and I also want to get married. My partner will never get married if it's not in d catholic church, I'm not sure I'm a catholic but I don't want to live in sin. If I get married in a church I don't fully agree with, would I be sinning?

Just a couple of thoughts and a question.
The church you get married in is not as important as the God whom you are being married before. The church is Jesus' body on earth and as long as the church professes Christ you should be fine, for it is God, not the church itself that matters. With that said, it is highly improbable that the Catholic church will allow you to get married to a Catholic unless you become Catholic. Not all, but many of the Catholic churches adhere to this. Then you would have to decide if you could agree to what the Catholic church professes.
My question is this, please define what you mean by keeping all the commandments? Are you talking about the whole Levitical Law and other laws given to Israel in th eOld Testament, or the Ten Commandments, or ???

I mean the Ten Commandments, especially the second (you shall not make for yourself a carved image...) and d forth (remember the Sabbath day...). I have to day that I was baptised as a child and had 1st communion in the catholic church... but now I am a bit confused and my husband to be does not support me at all. Don't get me wrong, I love Jesus and I know it's all about Him, I also know about submission to my husband that is why I would not mind getting married in the catholic church. However, I would like to know if it's right or wrong. I ask God everyday for direction but... sometimes it's not easy for me to clearly read His signs.

Regarding the Catholic church and your future husband's position. You will have to make a decision as to whether you align with their beliefs or not. It is great that you are pondering this already and not just doing it in order to get married. It is encouraging that you want to be sure. I would encourage you to research their beliefs and then right down besde the one's you agree with the letter "A" and next to the one's you do not the "N." This may seem academic, but it will help you to truly see whether you align with them or not.
If I may ask, what are you greatest concerns now? BTW, I am not Catholic.

Thank you very much for your response. Honestly, I have to admit I am very young in the faith and I would like to have the opportunity to read the whole Word, to do research, etc. I pray for my fiancé to be more patient with me, anyway I know God is in my case. Maybe I am misunderstanding what I read...I know the Sabbath issue is not an easy matter but what about the images?

Regarding your question. In the Book of Exodus we see that while God was giving Moses the Ten Commandments to take down to the people of Israel they were having Aaron fashion a gold calf (idol) to go before them as they were preparing to return to Israel. This action broke both of the first two commandments. The idol was their god and was before God in their eyes.
There is a difference between having an emblem that causes us to reflect, like a cross, and actually worshiping the cross itself. A cross reminds me of Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection, but it is Jesus Whom I love and worship, not the cross. If at any point the item becomes the focus or replaces the Savior in our adoration and worship then we have crossed the line. The golden calf was all of that to the people of Israel.
I am not Catholic and would never become a Catholic, but I do not want to get into the differences of what I believe and what the Catholic church believes. There are reasons why we have Protestant and Catholic churches.

Catholics do not worship carved or graven images. A cross is not a graven image it is a representation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do not worship the piece of carved wood! rather we worship what that piece of carved wood represents. If this were not so than ALL christian churches would be breaking the commandments.

American Roman Catholics might not, because they have been confronted about such hideous practices by Protestants over and over and over again. Roman Catholics do worship idols around the world and here too. I have been in Roman Catholic churches were I have seen it being done and I have never seen a priest tell them they should not. They agree to the practice by their silence.
In Mexico and Central and South America they certainly are encourage to pray to them and worship them. I have seen it myself.
Protestant Christians have crosses only to remind the world of the sacrifice of our Lord. Roman Catholics have idols; so many saints that it would take me all morning to type them up and do worship the saints. I have seen it being done. People in this website i am sure pray to them and worship them in various ways when they were once Roman Catholics. People want to exercise love and patience with your comments, but you continue to speak variations of truth. Roman Catholics bow down before images of saints is well recorded and it is a well known fact that priest have no problem with such practices. That is idolatry.
Your devotion to the Virgin Mary is worship in its self.

All I know is what I have seen. I belong to an Spanish "catholic" family, I was baptised when I was 9 years old only because I wanted to have my first communion (I mean, I wanted to wear that nice dress and receive my presents). I've always seen people around me praying to all kind of saints and virgins and actually forgetting about God. Most of my family memeber's houses are full of images and stuff and my own mum has a different saint/virgin to pray to depeding on what she wants to ask for. This is real idol worshiping.

Thank you for your answers... I am getting a little frustrated trying to take sides, trying to understand more than what I am ready to understand, this means I am going too far, therefore it's time to just relax and leave all in God's Hands. The important thing is that I received the Message and I surrendered, the rest is secondary.

Gospel church? I don't know anything. Last Saturday I went to seventh day Adventist church, I am not sure of anything anymore. D experience was good but I still don't feel fully comfortable

The Commandments were given to show us the standard that we could never live up to in our sinning bodies. Was this given by a cruel God, no. He loves us that is why He sent His only Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. We could never uphold all of the commandments and why pretend that we ever could. That is why Jesus died for us. If we say that we need to adhear to all the commandments are we not saying that Jesus died for nothing. I don't want to say that , I want to thank the Lord for giving us a guide that we could never adhear to, we then realize how much we need the Lord. I hope that makes sense.
