Hi, I'm just wondering - is Allah the same as our God? Or are they two different Gods?

Hi, I'm new but would like to offer my view on the subject. The god of Islam and the God of Christianity are not two different Gods. There is only one God that created heaven and earth and is eternal. All else are impostors and are lies from Satan. The Bible tells us clearly: Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. That is clear, unless one questions the Bible.
Another aspect is being reborn - with new life. You would know that Jesus lives and He has forgiven you your sins and you have received his peace that is totally independent of circumstances.
Jesus calls us to love our neighbour - not only saved souls and thus our attitude towards Muslims and any other person should speak of love. This is the sign that you live as a child of God -love, unpretentious love that God puts in your heart.
It is not a question to me of the best argument for God - just bring the message to Muslims or any other person and allow the Holy Spirit to convict them of sin and need for a Saviour - who is Jesus that died on the cross for their sin - to remove it as far as the east is from the west (or should I rather say north and south)
Forgive me if my words sound harsh - I am battling to be not so direct and would love to have my words in accordance with Col 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
I have heard that allah is a pagan moon god and that their flag has a moon on it. I haven't found allah anywhere in the Word of God.
personally for me.. God is only one...the way we worship Him make it different.... but I fell free as Jesus followers...
I must agree, the truth set us free. Jesus is the way, the truth , th life.
I converted in 1987 and since then, I just cannot return to my old idol worship anymore, with evil temptations saying worship me, I will make you free and rich !....
So it never happen and my wife accepted Christ too...
Jesus lives in us, and he never allows us to betray him.
Holy Spirit rebukes us each time we sin against Him.
I respect Muslim, they pray 5 times a day.. I do have good and kind friends so it is the fruit of the holy spirit that work. I asked Jesus to show me the Truth, how far is the East from the West...

God bless everyone,

Hi Going My way,

The Muslim claim is that they are descendents of Ismael, therefore they are Believers of the God of the Bible.
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; Gen16:11-12

Those word signify, that he would be of a quarrelsome temper and warlike disposition, continually engaged in fighting with his neighbours, and they with him in their own defence; and such the Arabs his posterity always have been, and still are, given to rapine and plunder, harassing their neighbours by continual excursions and robberies, and pillaging passengers of all nations, which they think they have a right to do;

BUT....... When Mohommad came along and started to have visions in a cave where he stayed from time to time
Sorry about the above not being completed I will rewrite the reply - Ron
The Muslims claim that Allah in pre-Islamic times was the biblical God of the Patriarchs, prophets, and apostles. The issue is thus one of continuity. Was "Allah" the biblical God or a pagan god in Arabia during pre- Islamic times?
We can endlessly speculate about the past or go and dig it up and see what the evidence reveals. This is the only way to find out the truth concerning the origins of Allah. As we shall see, the hard evidence demonstrates that the god Allah was a pagan deity. In fact, he was the Moon-god who was married to the sun goddess and the stars were his daughters.
Archaeologists have uncovered temples to the Moon-god throughout the Middle East.
The evidence reveals that the temple of the Moon-god was active even in the Christian era. Evidence gathered from both North and South Arabia demonstrate that Moon-god worship was clearly active even in Muhammad's day and was still the dominant cult.
According to numerous inscriptions, while the name of the Moon-god was Sin, his title was al- ilah, i.e. "the deity," meaning that he was the chief or high god among the gods. This was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. The pagan Arabs even used Allah in the names they gave to their children. For example, both Muhammad's father and uncle had Allah as part of their names.
"Why is Allah never defined in the Qur'an? Why did Muhammad assume that the pagan Arabs already knew who Allah was?" Muhammad was raised in the religion of the Moon-god Allah. But he went one step further than his fellow pagan Arabs. While they believed that Allah, i.e. the Moon-god, was the greatest of all gods and the supreme deity in a pantheon of deities, Muhammad decided that Allah was not only the greatest god but the only god. In effect he said, "Look, you already believe that the Moon-god Allah is the greatest of all gods. All I want you to do is to accept that the idea that he is the only god. I am not taking away the Allah you already worship. I am only taking away his wife and his daughters and all the other gods."
That this is true is seen from the fact that the pagan Arabs never accused Muhammad of preaching a different Allah than the one they already worshipped. This "Allah" was the Moon-god according to the archeological evidence. Muhammad thus attempted to have it both ways. To the pagans, he said that he still believed in the Moon-god Allah. To the Jews and the Christians, he said that Allah was their God too. But both the Jews and the Christians knew better and that is why they rejected his god Allah as a false god.
Is it any wonder then that the symbol of Islam is the crescent moon? That a crescent moon sits on top of their mosques and minarets? That a crescent moon is found on the flags of Islamic nations? That the Muslims fast during the month which begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon in the sky?
The Muslim's claim that Allah is the God of the Bible and that Islam arose from the religion of the prophets and apostles is refuted by solid, overwhelming archeological evidence. Islam is nothing more than a revival of the ancient Moon-god cult. It has taken the symbols, the rites, the ceremonies, and even the name of its god from the ancient pagan religion of the Moon-god. As such, it is sheer idolatry and must be rejected by all those who follow the Torah and Gospel.

Hi There,

I guess one can ask the question: "What's in a name?"

In the Bible God has given Himself many names, but "Allah" is not one of them.

For the Muslim, the name Allah is accepted amongst them as the name of God. They also believe, that Allah is a singular God as do the Jews in the O.T. believe - that the God they worship is singular.
It is only when one reads the New Testament and enlightened by the Holy Spirit, that we realize that the God of the Old and New Testaments is a Trinitarian God.

The Bible has many names for God, so does the Quran.
These names are given more as a description of what God or the Muslim “Allah” was undertaking at a particular time. The problem with Muslims is not the name they give for their God, but their concept of God as given in the Quran. The concepts of God in the Bible and the Quran are poles apart.

It is good to remember that although Muslims will tell you that Allah existed from the beginning of time, they need to explain why he only made himself known 570 years after Christ.
They then turn to the Old Testament and suggest (insist) that in Genesis etc. God was in fact Allah. Yet try as we may, it is impossible to relate the God of the Old and New Testaments, with that of the Quran.

Therefore rather than accept the Muslim God that was only discovered 570 Years after Christ, we must rather believe and accept what God say’s about Himself

Isa 45:21 "Speak and present your case. Yes, let them consult one another. Who revealed this in the distant past and predicted it long ago? Wasn't it I, the LORD? There is no other God except me. There is no other righteous God and Savior besides me. Isaiah 45:21

Hope this helps
The Lord Bless you as you enrich yourself with Who God and His Son Jesus is.

Pat, The Muslim God and his teachings include Jihad and violence, Our God, Jesus Christ preaches Love, Grace and Mercy. Sure, Allah means God, but not the same as Jesus the Son, the Father and Holy Spirit.

Unless this country awakens and realizes this truth, someday you will wake up living under Sharia law and be told what you can and cannot do, even in your bedroom! Your wife or you(gender?) will be wearng a scarf over her head and then suicide bombers will be on the streets of America. Read the book "Because They Hate" by Briggette Gabriel.
