how do you know if God is speakin to you in your prayers?

I have found that God has spoken to me in a voice, my depiction of God is of a man so I hear a deep,royal mans voice. Sometimes I don't hear a voice but I get a feeling inside that's telling me the answer. I believe that's God working through me to tell me his will. I know it does seem hard sometimes to decipher whether your hearing what you want to hear or whether your hearing the almighty. I say go with your gut instinct and when you feel like you get a really amazing communication your highly likely to be communicating with God. I hope this helps.

the more time u spend talking 2 GOD the clearer. The main way is through his word, when you pray keep your bible with you. Let me give you my first experience when the holy spirit spoke to me. I was praying and had been in prayer consistently the same time everyday, I was 18 and concerned about direction for my life. one day as I lay in bed just after prayer a thought came to me to read psalm 121. Now I wasn't big on reading the bible at this time and had no idea about the books of the bible nor did I know that there was a psalms 121. that's how I knew it was the lord, and the word was just what I needed to know that God was with me and that he has his hand on me.

thanks trina,
i keep my bible with me all of the time. i even sleep with it by my bed but i just feel like when i pray my prayersare not going anywhere. maybe i am praying for something that is not in god's will for me but i dont really know.

As long as you are saved and have repented of your sins, and is striving to live holy everyday your prayers are heard. are you sure you aren't practicing some type of sin or something that is displeasing God. notice I said practicing which means continually disobeying God when you know you are and choosing to do it anyway and refusing to repent( change your mind). if so, that maybe y u think ur prayers aren't going anywhere, or if not then maybe the answer is to wait, but God will answer your prayer it may not be the answer you want though.
