All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Yesterday I went to the eye doctor and he was frantic because of the stock market where he has lost thousands of dollars in the last 2 weeks and was hopeless because that was where his treasure was. My heart went out to this man as he poured out his heart to me.

It was really nice to for me to think that my 401k program was growing so nicely until I got sick 2 years ago and had to use the money out of it to live on.

My dream of having a good retirement in 20 years from now was gone. Now I am disabled and am on a fixed income. I am a Christian and thought my confidence was in the Lord and not in a retirement program, but I have to admit that I was placing this 401k as a treasure in my life.

Maybe this is where you are at right now, you have lost the security you thought you had for sure in the stock market, or a marraige, or a job, and now it is slipping away from you.

A song that came out a few years ago put it well.
Ive had visions. Ive had dream . Ive even held them in my hand. But I never knew
They would slip right through. Like they were only grains of sand.
Maybe you are reading this and you are frantic like my eye doctor. But if you are a child of God you will sing the chorus of the the song I mentioned.

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

Father you are a very present help in time of need, I pray for those who need to hear from you today who had had their futures fractured in the natural, but through it all you will be with them and Father help us not walk by sight, but to walk in faith and dependence upon you who hold all our futures secure. In Jesus name amen

Matthew 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
Luke 12:34 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The Anchor Holds
Really enjoyed your message and the video. Very moving.

Truly, this is a time where we are all required to examine where our trust really lies. We get so caught up in the daily activities of this life and we say we believe in God and honestly believe that we trust Him but now we are forced to face the truth about ourselves and our profession of faith.

Do we really rely on and trust in Him or do we trust in our own control of things?

It was only a few days ago while spending time in prayer and meditation that I realized and admited to the Father that I hadn't been trusting Him. I've been trusting in the things of this world and it's provision even though I believe that He is and have had a personal relationship with Him for many years.

I took the first step and first acknowledged to the Father that I had failed in this area and now I am taking the second step in repenting for not trusting Him and thirdly I am accepting His forgiveness.

Now I will walk the walk of trust, one day at a time, seeking Him, asking Him daily to lead and guide my footsteps. Meditating on scripture daily so that my mind may be renewed with His word.

This is a time of revival for those of us that know/have known the Lord and perhaps a time where the fields will become ripe for a new harvest of souls during the shaking of this Nation.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (Amplified Bible)

5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Hebrews 13:5 (Amplified Bible)

5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
I heard this new song by Casting crowns that hit me so hard as It portrays the slow progression to compromise. You said;
This is a time of revival for those of us that know/have known the Lord and perhaps a time where the fields will become ripe for a new harvest of souls during the shaking of this Nation.
God has got to get His people out of the gray so we can really know Him. for we can only serve one master, and we know that Mammon is a cruel master, filled with promices, but leads to distruction. So may God lead us into the truth that our joy is in Christ alone and may He help us all to give up our love of money.

Casting Crowns - Slow Fade Lyrics

Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
Your comment and the lyrics of that song are right on target. May God help us to stand in the light and make a difference for what is right.

Lord Bless,

It's so true, it's all gonna burn in the end. Everything we spent our lives to earn, will be no more. You never know what you had, until you lose what really matters. You never know who is for you, until you have nothing left to give. Without the storms & quakes, we'd never know what strength remains & such redeeming LOVE that can make this life worthwhile. "I wanted ease, You allowed me struggle. My flesh cried out, but refused to die. Relentless Love, why couldn't I see? You wanted the heart of Christ, created in me!"
Where I live everybody is crying for the money lost... I sit back and think, is this not Jesus saying to us all. Get back to basics, feel the ground under your feel, feel the heart of your fellow human, stop trusting in manmade idols, it is like mist in front of the sun. Get to your knees everybody and every situation looks differant from down there!!
ChildofGod1994 I am glad to hear that God is working in your life, the Slow Fade song is so true.
The part where it really hit me was;
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade.
The devil knows that if he can get an inch then he can get a mile. That is why we need to cultivate a relationship with God.
Greater is he who is in us than he that is in the world. (1John 4:4)

The Lord said to His people; Stand at the crossroad and ask for the ancient path, the good path and walk in it and you will live in peace. (Jer. 6:16a)

If we don't have that relationship, then we will be like Israel in part (b) of that scripture;
But they would not.

We know all that they suffered because they would not. God allowed them to go their own path and he will also let us go our own path and suffer the consequences of it.

Just like the father of the prodigal, but the father waited patiently for his wayward son to return and ran to him and received him.

Then we see the other prodigal who stayed at home, but did not have a relationship with his father as he should have or else he would have known the fathers heart for him.
