Hi Raven,
I'm so happy that you are studying, learning and growing.
Are you asking something with this discussion, or just wanting to share what you're learning?
I'd love to hear more what you intend for this discussion so that I can respond. Thanks.
Blessings, Carla
Hi Raven,
I think it's a beautiful thing when anyone wants to learn how to worship and Praise God, and also to do His will.
Keep reading His word and He will show you.
Also, it might be helpful that when you pray, keep a journal (write down your notes) of the things you are praying for, and write down how and when He answers those prayers. Then, when God answers your prayers (and HE will in tangible ways) you will automatically worship and praise Him. Please note, and this is important..... Sometimes God says No to the things we pray for if it's not in His will. God knows what we need. He also knows our hearts when we pray.
Philippians Chapter 4 shows us how God wants us to live, as do many other scriptures.
Don't be afraid to pray to God for everything, even the things that you might think are small. I'm not saying to ask for material things, But ask for things for other people. Especially in terms of salvation for others, and the needs of others (focusing on the needs of other people first) is how God wants us to act. Have you gotten connected with a church in your community yet?
In terms of praising and worshiping Him right now, being thankful for the life HE has given us and telling Him how you appreciate it is a great way to Praise and Worship Him. Also, when we are obedient to the things He tells us to do, it proves that we are His children, and it is also another way to Worship and Praise Him. There are so many ways...
John 4
23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is [e]spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
To worship Him In Spirit and In Truth involves loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We have a passion for God that takes over every part and aspect of who we are, and we let His Spirit take over so that our desire to walk in obedience to Him and His ways is the thing that matters the most. We worship Him in truth as we become more knowledgeable about who He is, and what He wants for us. We know that we need to abide in HIM (be connected to Him at all times) constantly in order to live in these ways. HE is the source and sustaining power of our faith. Once we realize this it leads us to worship and praise because we know we can't do anything without Him. Yes, sometimes we fail. His Grace and forgiveness is unfathomable and unending and so appealing because we know He will never turn away from us once we are His. This also leads us to Praise and Worship Him. We confess our sin and He is faithful and just to forgive us.
If you have truth without spirit, you will end up with a joyless religious belief which has caused many people to turn from Him. It will lead to a bland rule following ideology. We have to know we can never be 'good enough', but that's the pressure that religion puts upon it's followers if it is without the Spirit. If you have spirit without truth it will likely lead to an over emotional experience with no sustaining power, and would likely cause people to turn away from Him because they have not set their faith on the foundation of truth. Truth and Spirit needs to be sustained together constantly. That's why we study and pray and fellowship with each other. It is important for the church to be accountable to one another, and also to encourage one another.
I hope and pray that as you pray you will be lead to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Blessings, Carla
