Purely Scripture - women in the church

Ok, because another discussion is taking off on this, rather than debate it there, I'd like to try something different. I haven't had time to respond to other posts yet but hopefully can catch up tonight. :-)

Lets try to post nothing but Scripture and reputable source (such as Strong’s, historical documentation, etc. - no commentary or blogs from others). No opinions, no stating ones beliefs.

So there goes my Revelation chart again. LOL But I've spent some time pulling the below information together. Maybe we can all learn something directly rather than debating beliefs.

1 Corinthians 14

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people. 34 Women [gynē] should remain silent [sigaō] in the churches. They are not allowed to speak [laleō], but must be in submission [hypotassō], as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman [gynē] to speak [laleō] in the church. 36 Or did the word of God originate with you? 1 Timothy 2
11 A woman [gynē] should learn in quietness [hēsychia] and full submission [hypotagē]. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority [authenteō] over a man; she must be quiet [hēsychia]. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

talk, chat, prattle, babble

Mark 2:2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached [laleō] the word to them.

dominate; to have full power over; domineer, govern, have mastery over.

a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow; a wife; a betrothed woman

Acts 9:36
