All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

When is enough enough in life? When you're one person trying to get through life with a small child ....financially struggling barely able to make it and more and more things are added to your plate? You pray and hope things will get better and many nights you cry yourself to sleep hoping and wishing things be alright ....i am very grateful for everything i have and achieved at this point in life

For the Child of God it's "enough" in life when we change our perspective about our situation and realize that whatever we are going through it's an opportunity for growth in Christ and also an opportunity to bring God glory.

I know there are times that we can scream to heck with growth, I am drowning here, keep all your Christian cliches and get a clue, I understand. I have not gone through your exact situation, but I, like many, have been  at the place where our strength failed us, because more and more is demanded with less and less resources. At those times the pain had stopped me from seeing the situation for what it was and I became preoccupied with all the challenges rather than being occupied with the One that could have given me the peace that goes beyond human understanding and the ability to see/walk guided with the eyes of faith.

We must fellowship, worship, study and pray without ceasing in order to be able to  keep trusting/believing, loving, forgiving, fighting, hoping and actively waiting.

Life can get very hard, but we are not left alone to deal with it. We have God and God's family to help us.

Do to our obvious limitations we cannot give you a huge and grab your hands and pray with you, but we will pray for you and we are here for you.

I understand you pray from your post, but are you born again? Have you repented of your sins and received Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you trusted him with your life? I ask because of the name you chose for your self, lost soul.

It's really good that you are grateful for all you have and we are blessed to have you here. Thank you for trusting us with your pain.

No im not re born again .....i havent really found a church where i feel comfortable and won't be judged im 27 years old and walking in feels like a fashion show i watch numerous church goers talk down and judge other church goers i come on this site because its very open and i get many good feedback and postive reassurance ...on my own ill read the bible and if i need clearity i come on here i appreciate your feedback
God bless you, lost soul. I share this same struggle regarding "people watching" and I have difficulty removing my focus from people to concentrate upon the real reason for going to a church service.

On one morning when I went, the letters on the sign in front of the church said, Jesus is our peace.

I went inside and turned to the right and kept walking down the aisle until I found an empty pew. It was in the middle of the sanctuary. The projector screen hanging above the pulpit had an onscreen timer that was counting down the seconds ... 0:31, 0:30, 0:29... We were just in time... 0:02, 0:01 ... Worship service began.

I looked at the bulletin that a greeter had quickly handed me at the door as I was rushing by her. My thoughts were rushing around, too ... I was worrying about many things. I needed to slow it down, to focus, to take a deep breath, to get still. I needed peace.

The headline on the front page of the bulletin said, "All To Jesus, I Surrender." The words of the hymn followed, "All to him I freely give; I will ever love and trust him, in his presence daily live. Lord, I give myself to thee; fill me with thy love and power; let thy blessing fall on me."

I felt myself relaxing, exhaling. My only thought became, I have come to worship.

And so I did.
That was very reassuring
You don't have to find a church to be saved. Since you read the Bible, you already know how to have eternal life. God will work with you on any issues that keep you from church.

Just remember, not everyone in church is truly serving Christ even if they say they're Christian. And all Christians are still human. Being saved makes you perfect in God's eyes. It doesn't make everything you do perfect. So if you see people gossip and talk down to others, that's their hangup. If they really have Christ living inside, they will stop at some point because of conviction or even consequences for gossiping.

A Call to Persevere

Hebrews Chapter 10

19 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[f] we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death,[g] Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. 28 For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us. 30 For we know the one who said,

“I will take revenge.
    I will pay them back.”[h]

He also said,

“The Lord will judge his own people.”[i]

31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.[j] Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. 33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. 34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

37 “For in just a little while,
the Coming One will come and not delay.
38 And my righteous ones will live by faith.[k]
But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”[l]

39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

(emphasis mine)

Not neglecting meeting together is only to those who are saved. Once she repents and accepts Christ, He'll go to work on whatever keeps her from church.
Very nice, David :)
David asked if you're born again. Since you chose a Christian website, I would assume you are. But if not, this is the first step. You keep persevering knowing that some days hard times come up.

Remember that you're not alone.

Psalm 55 : 1-5
Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked;
for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger. My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.

Psalm 6 9: 1-4
Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me. I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God. Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal.

Psalm 6:1-7
Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. Among the dead no one proclaims your name. Who praises you from the grave? I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.

In each of the situations above God delivered them in His time.

How is the church to respond?

Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

You persevere through prayer and the Word. You seek out others who understand and empathize.

I've gone through the same thing for 6 years. My son can be a handful at times, especially when I'm in pain on a daily basis. I'd love to be able to provide him with the Christmas gifts he wants, but sometimes family helps provide them and I've gotten help from Secret Santa a couple of times. I've turned to the church for help paying my rent one time. I bought a house and have had to deal with plumbing problems, the furnace, and unwanted house guests (bats). But I can see where it has made me stronger and increased my faith.

I have a couple of very close friends in church who who are there when I need to cry. I have them pray with and for me.

I've often felt like David, and I will ask God the same. I read somewhere that when Abraham Lincoln was troubled, he would read Job. We each find Scripture that helps us get through.

Let it out when you need to. He hears your cry for help. He collects your tears. And one day He'll decide it's enough and turn it all around.
Thank you i needed some positive reinforcement

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.  (Luke 5:12,13)

A lot of us aren't pretty when we come to Jesus. It's important to come to Him anyway. This put forth His hand and touched him is a hug. As many times as I've read this, I still sniffle when I think about it. You how long it must have been since the leper had a hug? Lepers had rotting flesh. People shied away from lepers. Lepers were forced to live away from everyone else. The leper probably didn't smell so good. If lepers showed their face, bad news. Do you think people threw rocks and things at them? Jesus hugged the leper. Many of us who come to Jesus, probably don't smell so good spiritually. Come to Him anyway. Despite what people say or the condition you're in. He will love you. Open your heart and give Him a chance.

God's love,

Mary

Thank you mary
