In Mat. 9:13: Jesus Himself said: "But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but SINNERS to Repentance.
Btw Satan will NOT be unseated from Earth until the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ is finished. At the Second coming Satan gets bound for the period of the thousand years, but UNBOUND to lead a rebellion against God for a little time. Rev. 20:2-3 and 7 have the Binding of Satan and he being RELEASED at the end of the 1000 yrs. Rev. 20:10 has Satan being cast into hell-fire for ever and ever!

If I may add: Just because Satan was defeated by Jesus Christ when He came back to life from death, it doesn't mean that we, per-se, have any power over Satan. Satan is named "the god of this world, by the same Almighty God who created Satan. So...it must mean something more than its face value! As truly born again believers who are INDWELT by the Holy Spirit, we can never be INDWELT by the Evil Spirit. There is only ONE "Seat" in our hearts. Only one person has room in that Seat. But that doesn't mean that Satan cannot touch us. 1 Pet. 5:8 proves it. Somebody said that Satan is like a dog at the end of a leash with the free end in God's hand. So...Satan can only go as far as God allows.

One question: When Jesus used the words of God to repel Satan in the wilderness (when He was tempted to sin), did not Satan come back again and again to Jesus--God in human flesh? (
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. (Pl. note the words, "for a season."

Let me add: Jesus was and still is Almighty God. Satan knowing that truth still came boldly and tempted Jesus. Jesus RESISTED Satan with no problem in doing so. Did Satan go away from Jesus never to approach Him again? No...Satan kept on "attacking" Jesus relentlessly! Since that was the situation Jesus had to face with Satanic oppression, how much more for us sinful human beings? (Jesus had absolutely no sin in Him).

If you are born again, then you should never say that you are a sinner, God is not imputing your trespasses against you, see, I was a sinner, but I have been born again, and saved by grace, and now I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Amen. An important study is to study what the Word of God proclaims about the child of God and what it does not proclaim about us as well.

Short lists in no specific order:
Proclamations made of regarding us now:
Child of God, bride of Christ, co-heirs with Christ, royal priesthood, holy nation, saints, born again, new creation, redeemed, forgiven, adopted, God is our Father, indwelt by the Spirit of God, the temple of God, to name a few.
Things we are not:
The child of God is never called a sinner, but is referred to having been a sinner. We are not referred to as lost, heathen, spiritually dead, appointed wrath, condemned, Satan is not our father, leader or boss, but rather our enemy as the child of God.
I completely reject a common comment made by many that goes something like this, " I am just a sinner like you who has been saved." NO, we are so much more. We were dead and now we are alive, we were blind and now we see, We were lost, but now have an eternal hope and life in Him. We are better, not because of who we are, but because of Him and what we have become in Him ... and those who will come may have this new life too, but until then they are not like a child of God for they are spiritually dead and know not the things of God.

I believe most people have never cared to pay attention to what the Apostle Paul said in this verse: 1st Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
If Paul who was wrinting Holy Scripture was honest enough to admit that he was a sinner, how much more we?

Let me add these two verses also: 1 John 1: 8 and 10. If a person says that they have no sin they are lying according to this verse. If a person says that they have not sinned then God says that they are making God a liar. But thank God for v.9 in the middle of 8 and 10.
When the RC Popes say that they are not sinners, they fall into the trap of Satan. They BLASPHEME God.

You need to read the verses around 1 Timothy 1:15. This statement is an acknowledgment of who he was, but for the grace of God he has been changed.
Col 3:1-25 NIV84 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. (2) Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (3) For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (4) When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (5) Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. (6) Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. There is a difference between committing a sin and being (state of being) a sinner. The children of God living in the fallen flesh still do sinful acts, but that is not the same as a spiritually dead person who is a sinner by nature committing sin.
You can forget the foolish comparison you attempted to make with this stance to the R.C. stance. That just don't fly.

The Word of God distinguishes the children of God from the rest of humanity:
Luk_20:36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.
Joh_1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
Joh_1:13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
Joh_11:52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.
Rom_8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Rom_8:21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
Rom_9:8 In other words, it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring.
Eph_5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
Php_2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe
1Jn_3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1Jn_3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn_3:10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
1Jn_5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
1Jn_5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
The Word of God distinguishes the difference between sinners and the children of God:
Luk_6:32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them.
Luk_6:33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that.
Luk_6:34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full.

Tit 3:3-8 NIV84 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. (4) But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, (5) he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, (6) whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, (7) so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Rom 3:20-28 NIV84 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. (21) But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. (22) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Rom 6:1-23 NIV84 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? (2) By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (3) Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Gal 2:16-21 NIV84 know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. (17) "If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! (18) If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. (19) For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 2Co_5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Gal_6:15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.
