Most of us know about spiritual warfare and trials that test us. Pastor Richard gave a Scripture this morning to tie to the message of spiritual warfare. I wonder how many have ever noticed this from the OT.
Judges 3:1-2
These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience)

He was saying that some battles we face prepare us.. help us learn how to fight. If we've never engaged in Spiritual warfare, we need training through our exposure to it. The more we engage in it, the better we get at it.
It's like The War Room movie I told you about in our other conversation. The woman listens to the old prayer warrior and makes her own prayer closet by putting a chair in her closet. The chairs too hard, she's bored, she's distracted by the clothes and her stinky shoes. She removes all the stuff and tries other chairs. Eventually she learns how to pray more effectively and not be distracted. But she learned from her exposure to the fight. She needed a change in her marriage and all the fighting she'd been doing wasn't working so she learned how to fight because of her exposure to the battle. If she'd never been confronted with an enemy, she'd never have had a reason to learn how to fight.
This sermon was shown the weekend they showed the movie because they were tying them together.
