The Bible teaches a lot regarding building one another up and encouraging one another.
What are some examples and practical ways that we can do this?
When have you ever been encouraged or built up by another child of God?
What can we do on TheNET as the family of God to better build each other up?

It seems the best way for me, is to keep my thoughts to myself.

JB,
I disagree ... imagine that :-) I find that most of your Biblical teaching is much in alignment with what I believe (that in itself doesn't make you right ... hahaha). There are some specific areas we differ, but really not many. With that said, there are times that we come across people that we cannot connect with very well. It need not be the fault of either, but just how it is at times because of various factors in our lives. I encourage you to stay engaged and to not become discouraged.

I'm not adverse to scripture being used, far from it, I just question what its being used for (which is linked to LT's question)

Grazer, I am unsure if the above comment is directed to me , but if it is, please know that my first comment had nothing to do with you or anything you said. I also was linking my comment to LTs question.
It was, but only because your comment seemed to be in response to mine :) If it wasn't, sorry my bad
Amanda,
I am wondering if I should just take my comment down. First Grazer felt I may be responding to his views and now I am thinking that you feel the need to defend yourself with what I said . Something that yall don't know about me. The best encouragement "in my state of mind at the time" that would help me when I am down is a case of beer or a bottle of rum. Sometimes when I get so down toward God an self, it would be easy for me to pick up a bottle...... but instead I come here to this site and to see whats going on with the children of God. For me I am learning that when I am down and I cry out to someone , I now prefer them to always direct me to the Lord. This is what encourages me... evn though I may think getting drunk is more comforting even while just temporary... it is best for me to receive encouraging words through scripture from a god fearing loving Christian
Amanda, I will be taking my first comment down. I in no way meant to say or even insinuate that you or anybody else should think that what I find encouraging should have to be what you or anybody else finds encouraging. I was simply commenting with my thoughts to this discussion topic. I hope instead of everybody debating each others thoughts they can stay focused on the 3 questions.
