^{Even though we would all love to have the Blessings of Abraham and God can certainly give us all his riches how many of us  really have Abraham's heart .... he never cared about his riches, and he gave them up when he  followed God out of the "big city. Yes he was blessed  later , but at any given time he demonstrated that he did not "trust " in his wealth, he left the best pastures to Lot. It was different times and Abraham was an exceptional man  but maybe we should  also want the blessings of Moses, or Job, or the prophets, and ultimately we should want the blessings that Jesus had while HE walked the earth, or the riches of the apostles shouldn't we ??}

^{1 TIMOTHY 6} Serving God does make us very rich, if we are satisfied with what we have.⁷ We brought nothing into the world, so we can take nothing out.⁸ But, if we have food and clothes, we will be satisfied with that.⁹ Those who want to become rich bring temptation to themselves and are caught in a trap. They want many foolish and harmful things that ruin and destroy people.¹⁰ The love of money causes all kinds of evil. Some people have left the faith, because they wanted to get more money, but they have caused themselves much sorrow.

 Only God knows what's going on with Joel Osteen , but I did not  hear him  condemning sin with authority.. his gospel is washy, washy... it   really reminds me of this warning :

 2 Timothy 4  "Tell them when they are wrong. Encourage them with great patience and careful teaching,³ because the time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching but will find many more teachers who please them by saying the things they want to hear.⁴ They will stop listening to the truth and will begin to follow false stories.⁵ But you should control yourself at all times, accept troubles, do the work of telling the Good News, and complete all the duties of a servant of God.

 Now if someone  gets to know God  because of his popularity... well then let's say like Paul 

 ^{Philippians 1:18} But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

 In the end hopefully they will pick up a bible and start reading and will realize it's not that simple...

SALVATION COMES BY THE HEARING OF "THE WORD" the WORD is JESUS..and what HE DID..the GOSPEL..DYING FOR OUR SINS ON THE CROSS AND THE RESURECTION..preaching any thing else is not  THE WORD and there is no power of salvation in any thing else...No one can be saved by a person ..not preaching..but really just being a motivational speaker for getting wealth on this earth..JESUS said life is not about the abundance of things and to not lay up treasures on this earth...JOEL does not preach the GOSPEL..EVER!!Lets pray for him..in love!!!MARANATH..SHALOM..AND MAY GOD BLESS US ALL..I NEED MYSELF TO BE A BETTER WITNESS FOR THE LORD..SO PRAY FOR ME TOO!!

No Jamie Allen Lindsey. I have never heard Osteen preach the pure Gospel of Christ. To me, Joel is a motivational speaker. I have nothing against him because many need to be reinforced in a positive way. But there are deeper issues dealing with men's souls that need to be addressed. The "feel good" stuff only doesn't address the real problem that brings death to men.

I wonder this often.  Perhaps each of us has a piece of the puzzle.  Maybe Joel doesn't delve into the full Gospel, but is the motivational lifter and another preaches the full Gospel but isn't good at lifting one's spirits.  All things work "together".  And maybe sometimes we get too caught up in trying to decide if someone is full of it or not, than in taking what we can use, and what God lays on our heart, from the message, or not listening if it offends us.

I think Joel is too much a prosperity teacher, but prosperity motivation in small doses is needed as much as the fire and brimstone sermon.
