No, the cross should be concidered all the time, as long your are living.
I'm heading out this evening for a Good Friday service at church and I'm planning to attend a Sonrise service early Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. But, no, the cross is on mind much more than just this time of year. I think of it at Christmas and at Thanksgiving and when the seasons change and many, many times. I recently heard a sermon where the pastor mentioned the paradox of the cross. We think of it as beautiful and we wear it as a piece of jewelry and there's nothing wrong with that -- it's a beautiful statement of our faith in Christ and how much the Resurrection means to us as well as how much it means to us that He died for us. But the cross is also a horrible instrument of torture. And that's the paradox. His death brings life. His pain and stripes bring healing. His being forsaken brings us the promise that never shall we be forsaken. His drinking the cup of God's wrath means that those who accept Him as Lord and Savior will never drink from that cup. So ... Yes ... I think about the cross very often. I think God leading you, Chris, to ask this question will prompt in others how important thinking about the cross is to Christians. May you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday.
