Just so that is no misunderstanding, I feel as though this must be said. There are many people who have prayed this prayer, but yet, have not had a change in their lives with regard to sin.
This is for anyone who is out there and has prayed this prayer, but has not noticed a strong conviction by the Holy Spirit in their lives towards sin.
Study 1 John.
We are to be 'in the world, but not of it'. Our change comes about by the work of the Holy Spirit convicting us in our day to day living, which brings on a slow transformation (santification) to become 'godly'. It is a lifelong process. You will know if you are being convicted, and being 'sanctified', if the sin you once loved, you now hate. It becomes intolerable to you. You will also have a strong desire to read God's Word, and hang out with 'godly' people. You will want to be around those people who you would have scoffed at and possibly mocked previously. When God does a work in someones life, it is undeniable.
There are a lot of people who take a chance and they end up saying that it is not true or it does not work. It is when you make a choice that your life will be changed. A choice evolves a decision and every decision has a consequence, what you sow you will reap, like planting a garden. So if you make a decision to believe the gospel, that the sacrifice of Jesus paid for your sins and you receive Jesus into your heart and life, then you will be born again you will come alive spiritually and receive the Holy Spirit into your life, the result will be a changed life, You wont want any thing in your life that would displease the Holy one who is in the temple. (your body)
You will be judge one day on weather you know Jesus or not. Those who take a chance, instead of choosing will come before the Lord Jesus some day and say; “Lord we took a chance and tried you and He will say depart from me I don’t know who you are.
Matthew 7: 21-23 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
God loves us so much that he offers the gift of eternal life; he respects us enough to allow us to choose. Therefore, when we choose Him, we choose life; when we do not choose Him, we choose hell. One of my favorite definitions of hell refers to a place totally seperated from God- no light, no love, no hope. Would we really want to choose a place like this for an eternal dwelling?
Hello,
It is a choice as we set out to become doers of his word based on his father's biblical foundation. We apply the scriptures as the Holy Spirit illuminates light on relevancy and meaningfulness to our relationship with jesus. The choice is ours obey and live by the word or not. Great Question. If we take a chance it be like rolling dice and hoping for the right numbers to roll out in our lives. We must make an active not passive decision to either please man or God.
TO ME ETERNAL LIFE IS A CHOICE FOR JESUS. WE ARE TO LEAD BY OUR EXAMPLE AND WAY OF LIFE. TO ALSO SHOW OTHERS A WAY OF LIFE THAT STANDS FOR MORALITY AND LOVE FOR OUR NEIGHBORHS. TO STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT.
ETERNAL LIFE IS A FREE WILL CHOICE. IT IS SO EASY TO DO. TO EXCEPT YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR. HE IS THE ONE WHO CREATED YOU AND GAVE US ALL LIFE. I LOVE THE LORD AND WANT TO PROCLAIN HIS NAME OVER ALL THE EARTH
it is incredible that we,tho sinners,do know for sure, that our sins, which are many, have been blotted out, by the one.true GOD,the eternal life is no less a person than the Holy Spirit, livinmg within us,ennabling us to make the right choices to follow His ways.we need to make these choices every day,as we do, we find grace abounding to overcome evil with good,
By choice acourse,if we choose to follow Rom10:9-10 we will be saved. Then if we follow the word of God and live a holy life we will achieve total salvation. We must understand that being saved does not mean immeadiately stopping all sin just that as we grow in Christ we learn things like the importants of putting on the whole armor of God and sin less and less(keep in mind there are sins we commit we don't know are sins ex. everybody doesn't realize gossip and throwing away food are sins). So we must confess and ask forgiveness for sins we knew where sins and the ones we didn't know were sins(daily/nightly).
Salvation is the free gift of God when we confess what we believe in our hearts that Jesus sacrifice and the blood that he shed paid the full price that was on our heads for our sin.
We become born again and we no longer conduct our lives as we did in the past where we lived after the dictates of the flesh and in the futility of our minds. We now live by the Holy Spirit who resides in our lives. We are continually turning over the control of our lives to His control.
We are continually renewing our minds by the Word of God and we are part of a body of believer who we are to find our function that has been designated for us by God. when we fail and sin we admit that we have sinned, repent and the blood continues to cleanse us from all unrighteousnesses.
I believe that because of how god is so graceful he has given us the CHOICE to accept salvation unto eternal life. I personally took a chance by accepting jesus as my saviour but I believe when we take a chance it seems like it could have negative consequences. I now know that I didn't take a chance because it was the best thing I have ever done and I grow closer and closer to jesus and his father daily. We are lucky that our lord gave us a choice, as people say if it was forced upon us we would be like robots with no free will.
God bless,
Christine
