Hi Ineke, God bless you!
The Apostle Paul said...
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:21-25)
Paul compared sin to a form of torture. A dead body would be strapped to a person. After a while, a person would probably say... (Who will rescue me from this body of death?)
We all strive to be the person we know to be. Ephesians is a great read. When you mess up, which we all do, ask God's forgiveness and move on. Work to change and not make the same mistakes. There's plenty of mistakes and sins to make for all of us. Why continue to return to the same mistakes and sins? Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Love,
Mary
Hi Ineke, God bless you!
I was thinking about sinning over and over and doing the same sins. Climb out of the rut. Set your sights on higher ground. Ask for forgiveness, but also ask God to help you.
He will always forgive you. God loves you. Psalm 103 is a great read too.
Love,
Mary
Ineke,
We can all relate to your situation at one time or another in our life. We do what we don't want to and what we want to we do not do. The only thing that has help me overcome that is abiding in Christ through prayer, bible study, corporate and individual worship couple with fellowship. We need all those connections to be able to be led by the Spirit.
Jesus was only perfect man and everyone makes mistakes.
