does Jesus teach nihilism in Mattew 10:28?
"28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28
I was told that the word "destroy" in this verse proves that there isn't eternal torture for those sent to hell but rather total anihilation (don't know how to spell that).
From my reading it seems that there is eternal torment, but I can't think of where the bible states this explicitly.
Can anyone help me out?

The last chapters of the book of Revelation clear this up. My take is The seperation of body and soul.
The body is physical and as we know entering the Fathers Kingdom we recieve a new one .
The soul is spiritual and for my true death is seperation from our Heavenly Father. Which if eternal would be eternal torment.

Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Matthew 25:46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Revelation 20:15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

isnt it amazing how those that teach The Fathers punishment and choose not to believe the exisctence of satan and hell omitt these and other verses from their teaching.
I have found 7th day does not teach these. They point at the verses that describe what life is without the Father to describe a final death. A death of non-existence no life.

If you think about it, if there was no hell, why have a heaven. From their point of view, all will end up in heaven sooner or later. So I guess we can party harty. No problems because we're still going to heaven. Go figure..

Again looking at Matthew 10:28 I do not see where rhis disproves eternal torment.
Thinking about it to sent to hell seperated from God would that not be eternal destruction. A continual and constant torment. Most definately to be destroyed.
