I posted this question on one of Amanda's Topics and decided to post it for all. The question is out there. What is faith? Do we know and understand.....really understand what the word means? Do we have it? Do we use it?

Dear dear Rita,
The questions you raise regarding our faith are echoed throughout the ranks of Christians all over the world.
My ready upfront thoughts are: (1.) Where the Lord guides....He provides.
Where and when God wants us to move or act, He will make it clear to us, and
give us everything we need.
(2.) Try not to pay attention to what others are saying or doing. Just zero in on
your own life and goings-on. (Jesus' parable in Matthew 20).
Those thoughts come to mind initially.
Rita, I am not famliar with your personal situation. I remember when you lost your soul mate from this life, and evidently you are carrying on in good fashion. I say that because it's evident of your love for the Lord, and your desire to walk in His precepts.
Keep on keeping on.
Grace and Peace.
Richard,
My desire is for my faith to increase. I want to be on the right track. I want to get to the place where I don't waiver. Will I make it? I only know I strive for it. When my faith waivers, I try to talk to the Lord about it and faith comes back in that conversation because I know that I know He provides for me. In the hard times, we wonder if God caused a problem for us, to which I will say very emphatically *NO*. He doesn't bring the problem to us, but He does bring us through it.
I want to teach my kids about faith. The faith we need to survive this difficult time. I don't want my kids to trust in me but to trust in God for all that they need. He is a much better provider than I am.
God is always on time. I am trusting Him to provide $ 1200 to my son for two bills he needs to pay this month. My concern is that maybe my son doesn't trust Him to provide on time. Nor his wife. Will my trust be enough for my son?
Blessings...
Rita
Hi Rita,
Yeah, financial issues can be a real tough subject to deal with.
I'm afraid I can't offer any thoughts on your last question.
I'll be praying for you and your family.
Grace and Peace.
Rita,
I have an answer for your question about - if your trust can be enough for your son's issues........
Luke 5:18-20, " And behold, some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in, and to set him down in front of Him. (19) And not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, right in the center, in front of Jesus. (20) And seeing their faith, He said,"Friend, your sins are forgiven you." (N.A.S.B.).
Jesus was obviously impressed with the friends' faith and trust.
Go for it, Rita.
I'm praying for you too.
Grace and Peace.
Richard,
Thanks for your help on this one. I truly appreciate it. My son had one immediate problem solved by God just the other day. He had a $500 utility bill that he needed to pay. The next to last day he needed to pay it, he made $500.
God is sooo good!
Blessings....
Rita
