All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Hope and Trust are connected, yet our language and thoughts can and does seperate them. In much of our thinking. we have turned hope into more like a wish. And, trust into conditions and levels; degrees if you will. Something that must be earned, and for fear of getting hurt or taken advantage of, we rarely put complete trust into anyone or anything! How do you see hope and trust. At times have you discovered because of hurt, you limit how much you are willing to, have Hope or put your Trust in Our Lord? What steps do you believe will aid in helping you or another, to give The Spirit complete Freedom in your life?

He who has given us life and has called us with a Holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His will and the Grace which has been given to us in Yeshua The Messiah before the time of the world, {2Tim 1:9} We know we cannot earn a relationship with Jesus. We are called and given a choice. Even after making Him Lord, we discover in or of our own strength we are unable to hold up our end. We need Grace in the beginning, we require Grace throughout our relationship with Him. And that the eyes of your hearts would be enlightened, that you will know what is the Hope of His Calling and what is the Wealth of the Glory of His Inheritance in the Holy ones, {Eph 1:18} “That the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened...” To understand v18 we must look at v15-17 also. 15 Ever since I first heard of your strong Faith in the Lord Jesus and your Love for God’s people everywhere, 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the Glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you Spiritual Wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your Knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with Light so that you can understand the confident Hope He has given to those He called—His Holy People who are His rich and Glorious Inheritance {Eph 1:15-18} We begin with, “...strong Faith in the Lord Jesus and your Love for God’s people..” Our Faith in Jesus must to first, this opens the door for all we are, and will become in Christ. Next we see Thanksgiving and Praise to God, then comes our request to Him. Paul is asking God, to give us Spiritual Wisdom and insight so we may grow in our Knowledge of God. Different versions say, “That the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened...” another says, “...that your hearts will be flooded with Light so that you can understand the confident Hope He has given to those He called...” There is much we can, and Lord Willing we will say about this Hope. that said I want to share two more verses. Then I would like to hear what your thoughts are about this. God wanted His people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery-which is Christ living in you, giving you the Hope of Glory. {Col 1:27} Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His Great Mercy hath regenerated us unto a Lively Hope, by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, {1Pet 1:3} We see here and though out, how Hope and Trust are connected. We can even say I believe, “Hope and Truth,” are the same here as much or more than anywhere else.

Amen Chris
