False Idols
What are the idols in our lives that we hold on to?
Can circumstances be idols?

Amen! Thanks to Chrissy and Chris for your insight! It was my hope in discussing this, that it would help keep us on our toes. People place their trust in lotteries to pull them out of their financial woes. They may place their trust in the stock market or sports teams to bring them out of desperation. We know that only God has the answers we need and by seeking him he will answer us. Our world dedicates whole stores in our shopping areas dedicated to these idols. Then we spend the money we can't afford to spend on these " things" to ease our suffering. We see it painfully everyday. Fashion becomes a "God" and if we are not wearing a certain brand we are labeled as "uncool".
God knows our hearts. He is with us always to help, encourage and stand by us. May God clear our minds so we may hear from him moment by moment.

Again Bless you Brother for being lead to share this question. I had not thought of, pride, doubt, unbelief, etc., as idols. But, clearly if we put more faith or belief in these and so many more, over The Word of God and leading of The Spirit, then we are making them into idols. Conforming our behaviors to their demands, and not to The Love of The Lord.
