All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

What do those who have trouble around crowds do (say those with autism) if they want to have fellowship but a church seems like too much with so many people?

How can a person function at church properly when it's really difficult to function when there's alot of people together?

LT, before I put it I better make sure of something. The website says what county I live in and city. I know there's a policy about that on AAG. I just need to make sure it's still ok before I post it.

Good point. I would advise against it. Send me the link and I will look at it if you like.

Lord Bless,

LT

Christians are your family. Not all the family is in the same maturity level (spiritually) as we all know, but we are your family.

In Christ, we are one. You are my sister, I am your brother.

Don't look at other Christians, as just people, but family. That is what we are, we are family. I remind you of this truth so that you act upon that truth, even when there is no reciprocation.

Wow, :-)!

Brother, have a big bear hug :hugs:! It is so nice to hear...family....you're my brother and I'm your sister. d:oD

I'm someone's sister? That means I actually have value...

It is so nice to hear big brother! (you're my big brother if you've known Christ longer than two years since I've only known Him a tiny bit over 2 years).

:0) blessings little sis. We are one in Christ.

I have found some mega churches have online services... a couple that come to mind are saddleback church and some calvary chapels. There is a great site called oneplace.com where you can view many different ministries with media all on one page. There are also radio sermons, podcasts available too.

I dont know how you feel about that. But maybe combining messages online and fellowship through sites like all about god, can help you feel connected to the whole body...

Hey FeetBreeze,

I have a very dear friend who has anxiety that escalates when she goes to church.  It helps her when I or someone else goes with her...so she's not alone.  I wonder if there is someone who you would be comfortable with to attend with you.

Regarding what LT said in joining a smaller group... I wholeheartedly agree.  My friend who does not go to church has been slowly falling away from her faith.  She's not being regularly fed..  Not going to church to be fed is like starving yourself.

My suggestion is to contact your church Pastor and let him know your struggle.  Ask him if there is a small group of young women that you can connect with to share your faith and have fellowship.  Perhaps the teaching is on podcast---many churches are doing that now-a-days.  You could listen to it on podcast and then connect during the week with a small group to discuss the teaching and challenge eachother to apply it in your lives.  What are your thoughts on this?

Blessings, Carla

Carla,

I really like your ideas. I was attracted to this post because I, too have anxiety. This is a very do-able way to get in-person fellowship. Usually, I will go to the church but I am sure to leave right after. Yet, I really long for more than that.

I am so glad this subject came up. :)

Thanks ,

Ladylite,

I think it is so very common...  It is an excellent discussion, I'm really happy the topic came up too. :-)

Carla, I don't have anyone to go to church with...It was nice when Tabby and I went together...we've known each other for a long time. Sadly, she moved during the Summer before we got into 12th grade.

For awhile I would catch her bus and go home with her. We'd wait until it was time to go to church and we'd both walk from her house to the church. Bad news is neither of us knew Jesus(He didn't save me until May of 2010)...I started going to church in April of 08. I left like around in Oct. or Nov. of 08. Things changed for her,the church and me...She stopped going and I later stopped as well.

The reason I know she didn't know Jesus is because I asked her when I was searching for the truth, I think it was sometime in 11th grade, 2010. I asked her about salvation. She mentioned something about going to church. :(

By the way, what's a podcast?

FeetBreeze,

Here is a link to the church I attend, and their podcasts...how to sign on etc...

You can read about it here. :-)
