Yes martha got caught up in what she was doing . But Jesus wants us to draw close to him and not let other things distract us.

I want to be a mary and set at the feet of Jesus and hear His word and to pray

AMEN and AMEN to that.  To return to the fellowship I once had with Him. Just to be in full awareness of His love , mercy and ( most of all ) His presence.  Life is so terribly empty without this.  I know this only too well.

Sorry it has taken so long to getback to this but I have very limited access to a computer.

 

The Lord has been using certain scriptures over and over again to me as well. I have such a battle in my thought life that sometimes it actually exhausts me physically .  One of those He uses to try to get to me is   

                     " You will keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts You."

 

The keys words in this , to me anyhow , are " whose mind is stayed on You."  This speaks to me of drawing into the fellowship that you are speaking of. The closer we draw to Him the more we trust Him and the more we trust Him the stronger we become.

 

In my battle with my thoughts I guess that I was just expecting God to deliver me from the battles without having the committment that He requires.  By that I mean approaching my relationship with Him in the way the apostle Paul urges us to in Romans 12:1-2 .  I speak specifically of the part in verse 2 where he urges us to be " transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God."

 

I have always been lead back to David's prayer in the 19th psalm where he says

                   " Let the words of my mouth and the MEDITATIONS OF MY HEART  be acceptable in Your sight , Oh Lord , my Rock , my Strength and my Redeemer".

 

 He also promises us in His word ( sorry I don't have my bible with me to reference this ) 

                  " You will seek Me and you will find Me when you have SOUGHT ME WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART."

 

He has let me know that I will battle with this until the day that I see Him face to face , but He tries to constantly me ( sometimes I don't listen well at all ) I will prevail when I follow the direction and leading of His Spirit through His word . 

 

If I don't follow HIS way I have no one to blame but myself for my misery and lack of peace. that is why I agree with you so wholeheartedly when you said " STAY TRUE TO THE LORD".   There is no other way.   I just sometimes marvel ( and not in a good way ) as to why I so easily lose sight of this tremendous truth.

 

God bless you , my sister , as you allow God to lead you into the depth of the truth of your statement : "STAY TRUE TO THE LORD".
