Some say they do not hear the Spirit. Is that you? No matter where you stand on that point, we are Promised the ability to know the direction we need to take. My second question is, what is the Gift Jesus speaks of in John? And, how do you follow the Peace that is spoken of here? Is there a sense, a voice, or are they the same?
Phil 4:6-7 .6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s Peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
2Thess 2:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His Peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the Peace I give is a Gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Col 3:12-15 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the Peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of One Body you are called to live in Peace. And always be Thankful.

Chris,
I believe the “sense” you are talking about is, or can be one of two things, a spiritual sense, or a physical sense.
The spiritual sense; would be Grace; the physical sense will be sagacious.
I believe the “gift” will be that of Christ. Christ is the greatest gift God could give man, because in Him; we live, move and have our being, Acts 17:28; For in Him dewelth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power. Col.2:8-10. And of His fullness, have all we received, and grace for grace. Jo.1:16.
When we have Christ; we have everything we need.

Would you consider the "Gift" to be as He spoke in John 14:16-17 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. to be Holy Ghost? And, the "sense" to be the Spirit Leading us into all Truth. Then in verse 18, " He lives with you now and later will be in you," to be speaking of the Day of Pentecost? As we humble ourselves more and more, are we better lead by the Spirit. I am in agreement about Jesus, for the Holy Spirit points and leads us to the Lord. For our Salvation comes only through Jesus.
Lord Bless and Keep You Brother
Chris;
I don’t mean to try and over simplify this, or try to confuse anyone, this is just the way I see things.
The gift of “Christ” who is the Holy Ghost, the comforter, or advocate” The Holy Spirit, It was Jesus the Christ; Christ being an epithet of Jesus; “Jesus” the anointed one, which means being smeared with the Holy Ghost “Spirit”
God was in “Christ”; reconciling the world unto Himself. 2Cor.5:19
Jesus was the son of man; Jesus “Christ”; was the son of God. Christ in us; makes us a son of God, and the temple of God.
You can’t separate Jesus and Christ; no more than you can separate your last name and your mother’s maiden name; you are just as much of one as you are of the other.
Jesus the son of man said “by myself, I can do nothing” Jo.5:30 NIV. “Christ” the “comforter, Advocate” was in Jesus.
Jesus Christ says; there is nothing impossible to him that believes; or all things are possible to him that believes, or nothing shall be impossible unto you. Mat.17:20
Is not the Father, the Son; and the Holy Ghost “Spirit” All three one Spirit?
Blessings
Joe
I understand Brother.
Amen
The New King James reads: Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. So, if I go by this version, the gift received is Peace.
Tammy, you might want to try Eph.2:14, For he is our peace,.....;
Not only is He the greatest gift that man could have been given, because, look at what else He is to us. in 1Cor.1:30 “But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us Wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption….” And would not peace be inclusive?
Christ!! is still the greatest gift to mankind!
Joe
