I have a Catholic friend whom I sent a video which outlined the unbiblical practices and beliefs of Catholicism. I felt a little strange after sending it, and her response was very defensive, although she didn't refute any of the points that were made in the film.
I also have an aunt who is a Mormon. Today I came across an interesting video interview with a family who has left the Mormon church because of its false teaching. I sent this video to my aunt, and right away had that same nagging feeling.
I think by nature I want everyone to be happy and to like me, but when it comes to watching people I care about put their trust in organizations/religions that are clearly unbiblical, how can I NOT say something?
I became a Christian about 2 years ago and many of my old friendships have drifted, and my sharing my beliefs about abortion and homosexuality have certainly made them fall away much quicker.
My question is, should I keep my "controversial" beliefs, or those that could be seen as "stirring the pot" to myself? Some relatives already think I'm very narrow-minded and are offended by my beliefs. For the sake of sharing the gospel, would I do better to keep quiet on touchy subjects and focus more on sharing the love of Christ with these people?
Thanks for reading this, and thanks in advance for any thoughts,
Jenny

Personally, I think you should just live your beliefs at the moment. Don't come at people with what they should or should not believe. Understand that they have the truth as much as you feel you have the truth. When you attack their beliefs they are going to be defensive. You have to first create that ground work of friendship & love & when the Lord leads you to take it further, then do so. I think it needs to be a slow journey. These are cults that brain-wash so one video isn't going to change it. So, be patient. Show your love of the Lord. They now know where you stand, now just show them where you stand - in the grace & mercy of Christ. Keep that zeal & the Lord will bless your obedience sis. God Bless
