As I read this, the first thing I thought was all the times I had to explain to people about Catholicism.   Since I was raised in the Church, I never prayed to the statues as a idol.  I was always taught they only there to help us focus to whom we prayed.  That was a million years ago, and I am not a representative  of the Church so I will leave it at that.  The second thing, I have seen many people making themselves into a idol.  Always looking into anything that had a reflection.  Trying to make their body into some type of perfection.

I once heard something long ago that has stuck with me. {those are few and far between}.  Whatever you turn to in your hour of need is your god.  For some it is food, pills, anything you can smoke, money the list go on and on.  I guess in some way these could be idols I do not know.

I am just so glad we do not need anything to Pray to Our Lord.  No images nothing at all.  To Believe in what is unseen as more real the anything seen.  I know this has True Power.  Praise God we are to be free, to Pray to the unseen.

Amen.

Before Going in to Idolatry let’s ask ourselves few questions

    Who are we?
    Who made us?
    What are we made of?

Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living – Gen 2:7

Oh boy, now we all know, J we have been made from Dust of the Ground and Almighty God made us in his image

Now let’s turn our attention to EXO 20:3-4

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below

God is the Creator of heaven and Earth the Bible says that For everything was created by Him,  in heaven and on earth – Col 1:16

He created us and in turn we created idols lol :)

We all know that how people turned against God in the Old Testament during the times of Moses

Exo 32:4 says that “He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt."

Can we worship God as an idol?

No Chance

We can’t put God inside a box he formed this vast universe he gave wisdom to men and all living creatures

God himself said in Isaiah 66:1 that Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool

Hmmm now we can get a clear picture that how big our God is

Can anyone tap him inside an Idol hmm just have a think??

Christ died for our sins and he wants us to live a blessed life and He has gifted each and everyone his Holy Spirit

God’s Holy Spirit wants to reside in your heart you are his temple

We all know our God is a jealous God (EXO 20:5) and he strictly warns us in Levi 26:1 "'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.

We Believers need to be very cautious about what we are setting our heart and minds to

And what do you think that the idols are going to answer your prayer lol

ü  check this out

The Bible says in  Psalm 115:5 that about the Idols that “They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see “

Now this thing doesn’t end here what u Sow is what You Reap

Be cautious and turn away from Idolatry

Short and Simple Bible tells that Idolatry is a SIN

If you turn away from idolatry you’re saved or else you are entitled to bare the promise below

Deuteronomy 27:15 warns that

"Cursed is the man who carves an image or casts an idol--a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of the craftsman's hands--and sets it up in secret." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"

Not only that we should also keep away from things which are detestable to God

ACT 15:29 says “you are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things”

God’s deep desire is that he wants no one to miss out the kingdom of God

1Corinthians 6:9 says that “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders”

Therefore, my dear friends flee from idolatry.

And for People who doesn’t want to listen

Well well well people who worship idols have a reward that’s a nice Sulfur bath as mentioned in the books of

Revelation 21:8  “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Personally I feel that – Anything which Stops us from keeping God first in your life is considered to be an Idol.

It may our favorite TV show or a Favorite movie hero or anyone who impresses you so much than God

God should your first in life; He should be your first love

If we keep God First he will lift your head high the bible says in Matt 6:33 that seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Notice what Deut 4: 19 says

“And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven”

Never Ever share God’s Glory with anyone

See how big our God is he has created this world with his word how much praise he deserves

So Flee from idolatry and enjoy the Blessed life he has in store for you :)

wow. what a great words. Amen.

exactly.. you point it out.

God bless you:)

Amen.

I agree  with the point made by Chris, that "Whatever you turn to in your our of need is your god".

Some people turn to alcohol and drugs when life becomes tough and unbearable instead of turning to God the creator.

Great!

Thank you Lina, you're such a blessing to us and to many more.

God bless you always. Amen.

Is a graven image of Jesus considered an idol? What about the baby Jesus on Christmas day?
