Why is it so difficult for Christians to unite. Why do we sit around and do nothing to protect our Christian heritage ?

Hi Raul,

Just love them and forgive them and move on to another place of worship if that is what you feel the spirit has led you to do. You can also choose to overlook it and stay. ---- If your heart was right when you posted the questions then you have nothing to worry about.

Many blessings dear friend in Christ.

Individualism has kept us from uniting as the People Of God. We have no idea how much God desires us to be one Body walking in, and filled with the Spirit. we can not seek unity by compromising the revealed will of God revealed to us through The Word Of God. Unity is achieved as we each become people of prayer and devotion. God Himself will unify and knit us together as one Body of Christ.

Pastor Bob, i think that there is always a tension between individualism and collectivism. Either extreme, to the exclusion of the other is sin. I naturally want to join and contribute to good work for the Kingdom, when I see it done. However, I also know that I have a personal responsibility to be accountable to no man, but God alone.

For every "lone ranger" Christian I have met, there are 50 who would blindly go about doing things in support of institutions and programs run by religious scoundrels, without using any discernment.

To truly have unity, we must have unity around essential truths and then we must stand by them, when it is inconvenient.

Starting any work or devotion for God, should start in clearing our mind from any hindrances of bad news, own problems, personnal persecutions, and alikes so the Holy spirit can really work in our mind and heart without the corruptions of those hindrances, making the devotion and preaching a piece for lifting, praising and glorifying the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Standing behind the pulpit or leading a group with corrupted mind and heart will only nullify Gods purpose and the results really is futile. Instead of a stepping stone we become a stumbling block.

God love to see His people be united but;

"DO WE ACCEPT HIM WHOSE FAITH IS WEAK, WITHOUT PASSING JUDGMENT TO ON DISPUTABLE MATTERS?"

 Can we accept that we are weak, they are weak, we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, no one is righteous not even one? Discussions is healthy but debate is not. Mentoring is a privilige not an avenue for passing judgement. Denominations is our accepted and the way we understood the Holy scripture is. History and great writers, great people and servant of God has really help us alot but still it is the " SOLA SCRIPTURA" not the interpretations. Our deeds and understanding is through the merits of our Lord not by any human judgements. Comparing ourselves to other christians deeds and understanding is human view which is somehow corrupted in some way. We will be individually accountable to God for our own actions. But it should not keep us from loving others. We teach them the word of God , baptize them, worship and fellowship with them, disciple them, minister to them and let them go to witness to others. If we will really examine ourselves and all those great  writers and servant of God after the Bible is completed, the interpretations is not God inspired, only the Scripture is inspired. I'm not passing judgments just the reality. Biblically Gods people unites, but always disobedient causing strife and seperation. " NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS NOT EVEN ONE..."

Larry has the only answer that there is in regards to how to have unity.   Jesus prayed in the garden for unityfor all who are His.  He prayed to His Father.  He always prayed the will of  His Father so we know that the Father answerd.  We have the  unity of the faith.. we have one faith, one Father of us all.  We just need to recognize it.  LOVE is the only answer.  Unity is not agreeing on everything.  It is believing that there is one body of Christ and we are all members one of another just as the members of a physical body.  The eye cannot say to the hand..."Hand, I don't need you."  What makes us one is Christ in us.  Don't pay attention to our differences in doctrine (religion).  Look only to Christ.  If there is no love there will never be unity.

Doctrine is not a bad word or even a religous word, but a Biblical word that simply means "teaching."

Eph_4:14

As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;

1Ti_4:6

In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantlynourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.

1Ti_6:1

All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and ourdoctrine will not be spoken against.

1Ti_6:3

If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,

2Ti_4:3

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wantingto have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

Tit_1:9

holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

Tit_2:1

But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.

Tit_2:7

in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, withpurity in doctrine, dignified,

Tit_2:10

not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.

Was it Paul who said something like "Above all keeping the unity of the faith."  He was burdened when there were disputes in the churches.
