All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

1Cor 3:11-15 When Paul speaks of the foundation laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Then in verse 12 If any man builds on this foundation...Does it speak only to teachers, or does it apply to us all ?  Will the way we share the gospel,(meaning how we explain Jesus to others), then in general our conduct, do all those things go into building the Church?  Do we all fall under this, or just teachers?  Maybe a shorter way to ask.  Thanks

Hi Chris,

I believe Paul is talking to the "ordinary" Christians (ones that follow, verse 4) and makes reference to leaders ie Apollos and Paul himself. The leaders being co-workers in Gods service but all are part(s) of Gods building.

I believe it's meant for us all.

Chris,

I think that it also refers to *any man*.  Any thing a person does, promoting God's kingdom, that takes credit for himself, is wood, hay, stubble. And it will be destroyed.

Any thing that is done for God's Glory will be saved.

blessings...

Hi Desmond and Rita

Thanks for the reply.  I was sharing w/ another that, when telling others about Jesus and our walk.  We must understand that, what we say has weight and can effect the building of the Church.  If a part is not square, it can effect other parts, and then shared the verses of how it all would be tested by fire.  Yet, for some reason got stuck on the word "if" also, failed to think they could have such a responsibility.  Thank you again for your thoughts.

In the Love of the Lord

Chris
