All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

When you know that the Lord is placing it in your heart to act on something or reach out to someone do you ever get the feeling that it never seems to make a difference.
Is a seed really planted to take root? Just lately I am feeling as though this child is not very effective for His glory and feel there is not a whole lot that I am doing right. Perhaps these feelings and thoughts are just an attack but I cannot seem to shake them. I know we all go through these times but is it selfish to want to see some of our efforts bear fruit?

I'm sorry

Had a teacher in high school that planted a seed. by the time that seed grew I couldn't find the teacher. When I got close he hed passed away. Never got to let him know I finally understood. Imagin how many times that happens. Imagine in the wrong hands this not knowing could be a huge weapon. All we can truely know is what we have done we have done for our Heavenly Father. Do not allow the Father to be drowned out by the do not knows. Be sure if your is for the glory of The Father you have made a difference.

May the peace of the Lord be with you

Hi Nancy - we're in the same boat!

I agree with Bev's wonderful reply.

Perhaps don't think in terms of being selfish (or at least using that word) but maybe more in terms of personal ambition as in Rom 15:20?

(often people say that it's not good to boast ....... but eg 1Cor 1:31 makes an allowance!)

In Him,

Desmond

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!' "

Matthew 25:21

Jesus is Lord!

Bev - that is GREAT news. I am really pleased and encouraged to hear that. Those words are awaiting you dear sis - keep fighting the good fight. It's a great blessing to have you here in our lives.

Hi Nancy,

I've looked over the discussion, and I am happy that the issue has been resolved for  you, but I just want to add something possibly for someone else who may come along and have the same question.

I think the Lord mostly doesn't show us when we have been or are being effective for His Kingdom.  It's not about us, and He doesn't want us to be puffed up in pride..  I look at it as a way of Him protecting us..  Other times He may show us if He knows we need the encouragement..  Regardless of all that, He is a loving God, and He is in control.. Hallelujah! Above all else....We can rest and be in peace knowing that.

Nancy,  I think it's a good discussion..  I would leave it up.  I believe it will help people.

Blessings, Carla

Yes, it remind me of that Footprints In The Sand poster...

I can look back and see where God pulled me out of situations that would have killed me.

I agree, I give Him thanks for not allowing me to get fat headed and stiff necked.

Faith is believing that if I follow Christ that he will make the best come out of even the worst situations.

I wrestle with feelings of futility with different times, different issues. I include in my prayers - I don't know how to handle this, but You do, I choose to believe that you will make things come out for the best no matter what. It's difficult because I don't feel like I'm being sincere, that I'm being phony struggling to believe when nothing seems to be working out well.

I share a duplex with a non-believer and it's quite frustrating - I know some people simply will never believe - I find it amazing how ridiculous their arguments are - irrational rationalizations!

I had trouble sharing this with my mom when I was 19, but I was also very hung-ho. After all I love her and want her in God's family.
