All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

So far in my journey with the Lord I have been noticing something that has beern bothering me. Why do I see so much hurt, pain, frustration, confusion and just general unhappiness within the church and the Christian family than there seems to be outside of it? How can we shine and spread the love and joy of Jesus when we seem to be in a mess? It saddens me to see this I pray to God constantly about it. Should the church be teaching more about taking authority or and should we not know as Christians, how to take that authority more than we do? I apologize if this question is offensive to some but I am a bit confused about this. Love in Christ, Nancy

One thing I think "the body" needs to work on is, how we treat the hurting.  Sad that it is the army of God that,

does not care for the injuried as we should.  So many of us are the walking wounded.  Yet, when people as

yourself have this burden, and do things about it like, prayer and posting these questions, I believe we are

getting better at caring for the wounded.

Haave been working with someone in my home church on this issue. God's children WILL be healed in the Name of Jesus! Amen!
Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply. Like you have said in other forums, "we hurt when others are hurting. "

Nancy

Your actions at church, here, etc., show your are putting your faith w/ actions together, to fill a need.

Thanks again

Thank God! He the one who has given me stubborness. Ha! Sometimes that a good thing sometimes not so good. Lord keep me from crossing that line
Hey my beloved friend,

Long time since we talk. It is great to see you are still around. How are you?

The church is comprised of people who know they are a mess and are looking for help. The world wants you to think all is well and they go to great length to make sure they themselves believe that.

Mark 2:17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

The Church is purified through fire. God does not correct those who are not his, but we are his, so we do not get away with stuff.

1 Peter 1:6-7

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

The Church also finds itself in a mess most of the times because they do not abide in Christ as they should, hence being weak, it gets tossed around like waves in the sea.

Love you.

Whoa! By the looks of your profile pic , seems that I must have blinked my eyes and missed something. Congratulations to you and your Lady, David! Wow, so very happy for you my friend and brother.
Thankyou for these scriptures. After I posted this last night I did happen to come across. 1 Peter 1:6-7 this is one that spoke to me about this issue. I do see the need for faith building and for people to understand about God's authority in the churches. I myself am ,at times am guilty of forgetting how mighty His authority is in my life. Thankyo for your reply. These scriptures are very helpful. It is awesome to hear from you again! Love you too brother !

Hi Nancy,

I would suggest you go to your Christian bookstore and find some books on the subject of what is wrong with the Church. I could write a list a mile long on the failings and blatant sin that occurs in most churches. You are discerning correctly and such a book will confirm to you that you are not imagining things. It will save you much pain for naively trusting those who may not be trustworthy. When I was a baby believer, I remember reading in my Bible about the wolves in sheep's clothing. I was sure that referred to those outside the Chruch who are unsaved who walk in ungodliness. The thought never ever entered my mind that it also referred to the person/s who sat next to me on the church bench each week, the church leaders or even the pastor! This is not to discourage you, however, but to encourage you that you will hear no truer statement in your Christian life then to "always keep your eyes on Jesus", because human beings fail, but Jesus never fails, and through the Holy Spirit, God will lead you and guide you into all truth. My belief is there is a true Church, but most denominational  churches are not it. I believe that within most every denominational church there are some true believers, but the majority are not saved. I believe the design that most churches go by, is not the design that Jesus established for the Church. If you want to know what the Church should be, simply open your New Testament and read for yourself what the Church should and should not do. Today, many have started home fellowships which operate much differently then the order of most churches. In these fellowships there is no hierarchy of leadership- everyone is equal under Christ and everyone equally participates using their gifts. There are no cliques, no inner circle, no special privileges for those who are wealthier, more intelligent, more popular or more talented. All are equal and all walk in God's love and unity which means caring for the widows and orphans, the poor, handicapped and the oppressed. Other then fellowships like this, I feel most churches are way off the track thus impotent and lacking in authority and power. This is exactly how God in His Word said it would be and warned us not to pattern ourselves after such churches. The churches are full of the very doctrines and traditions of men (and demons) that God warned against in His Word. The sooner new believers realize this, the sooner they will be used of God and the more blessed their lives will be. Since you are asking this question, I pray for you that you do not go into denial and fall prey to a church that is out of order, but even if you do, if you remain true to Christ, He will open your eyes and set you free from any wrong denominational influences that would send you down the wrong path. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to form denominations. We are called to be the Body of Christ as we walk in the Word in unity.

The one thing our Lord has told me time and time again is that I am a "reformer" and could never be satisfied with the status quo. So as I keep my focus on Jesus He will be my guide, my strength, my courage and my perseverence as He leads me ever so gently along , which would otherwise be a difficult path without Him. I am now very much understanding a vision He gave me 2 years ago. I am trusting Him in hope that more eyes will see, more ears wioll hear and more will truly seek Him and be healed. And, yes, I have been meditating on THE BOOK I have been reading. The only book of truth! The Bible! The Holy Spirit has been taking it from there. :). Thankyou all for your replies they have been three confirmations for me. THANKYOU FATHER! :)
And yes, there IS a difference between saying one believes in Jesus Christ and one who has RECEIVED Jesus CHRIST ! I don't think that the folks sitting next to you in church are ALL wolves in sheeps clothing though. They only have not been taught that difference and don't know any better...YET!!! :)

Nancy,

Didn't mean that everyone who sits next to us in church are wolves. My point was the wolves are not always outside the church. And not referring to those who are new to the faith, but those who have been there for years who do know better, but do not put Jesus first or live a holy life.

Yes I did know what you meant. Have crossed paths with some. No offense intended. Just thought that was in need of clarifying. Thankyou Jane for the wise words God gives to you for us. You are blessed and a blessing. :)
